Fishguard, Pembrokeshire, Wales
Powered grass campsite
Liked Once we were on a different pitch the site was lovely and quiet with great views.
Friendly staff
Great walks directly onto the costal path
Disliked Pitches are not at all level, even struggled with chocks.
Pitches in the middle area are over crowded and forced in between lodge parking. There is also a generator in this area which is noisy and on 24/7.
It had a small shop but would have been great to maybe have some food vans etc. as otherwise everything requires a drive into Fishguard.

Powered grass travel trailer campsite (comfort)
Liked Nothing
Disliked All toilets and shower blocks were closed apart from 2 toilets and showers for the whole site which was pretty busy!
Other guests were peeing in bushes, drinking at the wash stations and leaving bottles around and no on site representative.
Checked in and just got told to park anywhere, no information at all or even a site map.
Site was busy and right next to a very busy road, with a lot of road noise all night with sirens etc.

Disliked Sloping pitches. Site can be noisy due to large number of guests. Toilets and showers were not very clean

From the manager: Thank you for your recent visit Chycarne is a coastal campsite and therefore some pitches are located on a slight slope But many pitches are not. Many visitors want a sea view and therefore we can only pitch these visitors when available in these pitches that may have a slight slope. Cornwall is busy during the school summer holidays and therefore do not expect the campsite to be quiet Its not a field on a farm but a holiday park The campsite quietens down around 10 pm and the wardens are patrolling until all is quiet on the campsite Toilet and showers are communal and have a very heavy footfall during the peak season. There are some visitors that i am afraid do not care how they leave the facilities and therefore show no respect to others. This is a problem on every campsite and not exclusively at Chycarne. The facilities are cleaned a minimum of three times a day with further inspections The whole process is ongoing but eventually even the staff need to sleep. Chycarne
