Toilets were clean for the first…

Aug 2026

Liked Toilets were clean for the first couple of nights.. that’s honestly the only good thing I can say

Disliked Our recent stay, intended as a family getaway, turned into a deeply disturbing and traumatic experience that forced us to grab our young children at gone 9pm, get in the car and leave for our own safety, leaving our tent and all our belongings there. While we anticipated a the site might get a little busier due to the bank holiday, nothing could have prepared us for the level of intimidation and lack of personal space we encountered. our family, including our three young children (ages seven, four, and one), was subjected to harassment. A large group of foreign middle aged and older men invaded our personal space, including 3 men coming up to me while I am sitting in my car next to my tent and trying to intimidate me to the point I was shaking and other campers started getting up to come over. I then spoke to the owner and it just got worse, she only cared that the large group of paying customers didn’t leave and the police weren’t called.. they then started. walking so close to our tent that they were stepping on the guy ropes, and shouting loudly. This continued even when our one-year-old was crying and our seven-year-old was visibly distressed. The intimidation was palpable, leaving us feeling unsafe and vulnerable. The situation escalated to the point where our seven-year-old daughter was in tears, expressing fear and a desire to leave. This was not merely an inconvenience; it was a traumatic event for our children. What was equally concerning was the inadequate response from management. Despite reporting the issues, there seemed to be a clear lack of care or understanding regarding the severity of the situation. It felt as though the priority was to avoid police involvement and retain a large group of paying customers, rather than ensuring the safety and wellbeing of other guests, especially families. Fearing for our safety, we made the difficult decision to grab our children and go, leaving many of our belongings and our tent behind, and drive three and a half hours home. The emotional toll has been significant; our seven-year-old is still crying and pleading with me not to return to collect our remaining items due to her fear. This has resulted in further travel, expense, and emotional distress, as I now face another nine hours of driving to retrieve our possessions, hoping they remain untouched. This experience not only ruined our family holiday but has left our children and us traumatized. We strongly advise other families to find alternative accommodations where safety, respect, and proper management are prioritized. Also advertised as having running drinking water, which there is a tap that didn’t work and when I spoke to the owner I was told there was bottled water in the honesty box for £2 a bottle
