From the manager: Hi We note your review. We won't apologise for having trees on the site which are well kept and in important part of our landscape for both shelter and protection. Unfortunately midges and flies are an unavoidable feature of Lake District life - if you intend to camp regularly in the lakes then we suggest you make preparations with clothing, various midge repellents, and timing (unfortunately you cannot always sit out in the evenings). There really is nothing we can do about midges and if this formed part of your less than average review then we feel we have to dispute it Regards Regards
