Primitive grass campsite (large)
Liked Plentiful number of loos and showers. A bit tired but clean and functional.
Disliked Distinct lack of a friendly welcome. When we finally found someone we were told to camp 'over there by the trees', indicated by a wave of the arm from the other side of the field. No info given about where toilets/showers/drinking water/bins located. It felt very crowded, permanent caravans way outnumbered holidaymakers.
Wasps, wasps, and more wasps. Spoke campers on other parts of field, everyone was struggling with them and multiple people reported being stung.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Large field, could pitch where you wanted. Beautiful views and very remote and quiet... the driveway was around 2 miles long!
Disliked Only one shower.... we thought it may cause issues but few people chose to use it so it wasn't a problem.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Beautiful views, quiet and peaceful. Lovely fell walks from the doorstep so no need to use the car.
Lovely friendly host. Generously sized pitches.
Disliked Compost toilets situated in full sun so can get very hot inside and a bit smelly.

Southminster, Essex, England
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Quiet and well spaced, other pitches were all taken by caravans and motor homes, so we were the only tent on site.
Check in was brisk despite noone else at the bar at the time, information about the site was communicated by a leaflet handed to us. It didn't feel especially welcoming, an overall impression that continued when we visited the pub for a drink in the evening.
Clean tidy ameneties.

From the manager: Thank you for your review and comments. We are sorry that the welcoming you received was not our normal warm and friendly welcome. I will enquire into why this was the case.
Aylmerton, Norfolk, England
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite (no pets)
Liked Lovely well maintained site in a beautiful location. Very close to Cromer and Runton but far enough away to be very peaceful and relaxing.
Georgy is a lovely host who has a good balance of keeping the site feeling very relaxed whilst always being contactable if needed.
Disliked A bit too busy for comfort on the Saturday night/Sunday morning, but that's just personal preference. Perfect for the rest of our stay.

Liked A tiny, beautiful and quiet campsite in rural location. Large sheltered pitches, clean tidy facilities including a communal kitchen that was invaluable in inclement weather. Staff are all very welcoming and friendly.
Definitely one to visit again.
