Lovely site to access Croyde beach

Aug 2026

Liked Such a lovely vibe at this campsite, a very family feel. I like that the owners often drove around on a little tractor thing to check everything was all okay. Great shop with warm baguettes in the morning and very friendly staff. Shop was open really long hours too, 8:30am to gone 9pm, not sure on actual closing time. Reception was also open late which was great for us as we arrived quite late but it was nice someone was there to great us. Every morning we were there there was a crepe van which we ate at twice as it was so good! We didn’t try the fish and chips and pizza but they looked busy so sure they were great too and helpful having food available on site. LOVE that it’s a dog free site and the local beach is also no dogs! Makes a change as usually campsites (in my opinion) can be ruined by dogs everywhere. Walk to Croyde beach is very easy, literally cross the road and there’s a little footpath that is signposted down Sandy Lane, around 10-15 minute walk but very flat so easy to do. Croyde beach is stunning and has so many different food options around so you barely need a car whilst here. We nipped into Braunton for some food shopping but other than that everything can be within walking distance if you’re able. It’s a big site with multiple fields but the shower and toilet block had plenty of them so never had to wait. There’s also an additional toilet block at the top end. Great security onto site as only vehicles with a sticker you get given can get through the barrier which is fab! No code to remember as it opens automatically for you so quick and easy access. The sunset in the evenings were amazing, we were in field D which I think was the best location as we could also see the sea, so we had a great view of the sun setting over the sea every night. Seemed like a really good dark sky area so the night sky was absolutely beautiful.

Disliked Pitches are more close together than you get at other sites (that we’ve been to) so is quite cosy and you can hear everyone’s conversations around you so wasn’t overly peaceful in the evening. Not sure if there was a specific “quiet time” but as most places, a lot of campers didn’t stick to this unfortunately. Pitches are very sloppy, was fine for us as we had blocks but if you don’t you’d really struggle so recommend levelling blocks or similar else you’ll be leaning to one side massively. Totally understand why there was a ban on charcoal bbqs due to the recent weather but we weren’t made aware of it until we arrived. They said they posted it on their facebook but I did not look at that so an email would have been helpful. So a bit of lack of pre-arrival communication there.

Lovely stay

May 2026

Liked Very large pitch, concrete so no messy gravel and very well kept. Lovely farm shop just down the road for coffee in the morning and some great walks (you do have to cross the busy A46)

Disliked Facilities are limited but as there’s no tents allowed many people have facilities in their units anyway!

Lovely stay, very remote.

Mar 2025

Liked Very close to a little beach with direct access which was lovely. So quiet, we were there in March and for 2 of the nights the only ones in the whole field, i imagine it would be lovely in summer when the communal areas are open. It’s very remote, only one supermarket in st David’s which was a nisa so bit pricey, Aldi etc about 30 mins away . Good facilities.

Disliked Bit of a trek to grey water disposal from where we were.

Liked Friendly feel, great facilities, clean toilets, lovely choice of pitches. Good WiFi. Particularly liked the noises from the cows when filling up our water 🤣 really close to the visitors centre for some good walking trails and also very close to Brecon town.

Lovely stay, will definitely come again!

Jan 2025

Liked Lovely site, very quiet as it was January but imagine it would be lovely in the summer with the pizza oven! Will definitely be coming back for that! We only live local so we only stayed on night just to trial out new caravan. Can hear the train line nearby but I quite liked the noise!
