Shepherd's hut (two person)
Liked We had a wonderful weekend at The Hoot.
The accommodation itself is immaculately clean, with everything you could possibly need layed out, even a small torch!
The surrounding areas are a ramblers paradise, a trip to Coaley Peak on a clear night is a truly memorable experience.
The walks we did were welcomed, largely as we ate our body weight in the fantastic locally produced cheese we bought from the farm vending machine near the accommodation.
Sid is a wonderful host, chatty and friendly but also respectful of privacy.
We had a rare child free weekend and this was the perfect tonic to recharge.
Even the unpredictable weather didn't spoil things.
I highly recommend this location for visitors to Westonbirt aboretum or Slimbridge and for those who like to go on walks through unspoilt countryside.
Disliked Going home.
Not sure if WiFi available. For us that was the last thing we wanted anyway.

Liked A beautiful site with a very friendly goat and runner ducks-total escapism yet conveniently located close to the M5. You must have the wonderful Pizza they have-absolutely divine.
We went for a day at the nearest stone beach Kilve beach, where there were many fossils and country walks that my 10yr old nature enthusiast son enjoyed :)
Great toilet and shower and really friendly people running the site
If you get the weather like we did, the sunsets are spectacular
Disliked only one tiny thing was the ground was incredibly hard to pitch the awning. That isn't a huge problem but make sure you have hard ground tent pegs and a sturdy mallet with you just in case.

From the manager: Thank you for leaving your review, hope you found some fossils! The ground gets very hard on the motorhome pitches when it doesn't rain, however we have just installed 2 more hook-ups on the grass pitches near the Roundhouse - so hopefully, next time you visit, you will not find this such an issue. Liked Great 2 night break at The Hunters where we took full advantage of the fantastic food on offer.
We felt really safe as all Covid 19 protection measures were taken (particularly in the pub) and the surrounding area was great to explore.
