Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Very quiet location - hosts greeted us kindly. The 3 horse trailers were excellent - one converted to an excellent shower, one toilets and one a wash up space. Nicely maintained and very clean.

East Anstey, Devon, England
Primitive grass campsite
Liked One of the best campsites we have been to in Britain. Campsite was very good, toilet and shower block very good (even heated, nice on a cold day), there is a nice sunroom to sit in from the rain, and the hosts excellent.
Disliked Nothing. This is one of the best sites you will find.

Ilfracombe, Devon, England
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Quiet site, good clean toilet and shower block. Good location. Flat field good for camping.
Disliked No covering over the waashup area - was raining so not ideal. There were no garbage bins for general waste. The exit to the fairly busy highway is hard to see for on coming traffic.

Camelford, Cornwall, England
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Excellent showers and wash up block. Nice location and flat ground for tents. The horses, geese and bunnies were nice to see.
Disliked Overall not much. The clothes dryer seemed to struggle to dry clothes. And you will hear the nearby wind turbines turning.

Penzance, Cornwall, England
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Good location, view of beach, large site, shower toilet block. Nice hot water. Clean.
Disliked A very sloped field - if you are on the upper edge you are ok but rest of space is very sloped. Showers ok - but mine drained slowly and not a lot of space in them. Had to pay to charge a phone.

Falmouth, Cornwall, England
Primitive grass and earth campsite
Liked Good little kitchen space and a shower and toilet block. Very clean. Lots of space with a view to the sea.
Disliked Showers had hot water but small stalls and a bit open to the air. Not much shelter from the wind.

Okehampton, Devon, England
Meadow primitive grass tent campsite (shaded)
Liked Good and new facilities. We arrived on a very wet day and they have a large covered facility where you can eat, relax and get dry - a real life saver for us.
Disliked Not much - you walk in to your site which is ok but there were not many flat spots for tents - we had the prime one but if crowded that may be a bit of a problem.

From the manager: Many thanks for your feedback, there’s no need to worry about getting crowded we are quite exclusive with only 5 pitches available which are all flat, similar to the one you chose.

From the manager: Hi Lyle, thank you for taking the time to review! We have one sit down toilet, one urinal and one shower for the men. Two sit down toilets and one shower for the women in the main toilet block. We currently have 2 portaloos in Fox field to support through the busy period. Kind regards, BVL Management Team
