Camping pod
Liked A cozy home away from home Glampod tucked away on a private corner of a working farm. It has all the necessary comforts with a well stocked kitchen, crockery, fridge/freezer, clean bathroom and comfortable beds. You can also enjoy the complimentary fresh bottle of milk on arrival, marshmallows at the fireside and/or BBQ your burgers from one of the many nearby local Farm Shops in the area. They have just started their own Farm Shop as well which hopes to provide local staples from around the community (Slate House Farm Fresh eggs on request!). The outside patio of the Glampod was quite nice to enjoy fireside book reading while also taking in the peaceful beauty of the site. Positively a dog friendly accommodation so my Border Terrier could join in on the adventure too and he also enjoyed a restful visit. Owners were attentive to our needs checking in to make sure we were enjoying our stay. Location wise Slate House Farm is quite ideal for treks out to the various National Trust sites in the Peak District and exploration of Chesterfield and Bakewell. Was also only 15min way from the Chesterfield Dog Park secure field so my dog could stretch his legs after a long journey. Overall a delightful visit which we hope to return to again to enjoy relaxing in the Peak District.

Shepherd's hut
Liked Cozy Shepherd’s Hut tucked away on an idyllic peaceful farmland near Helston, Cornwall. Lizzie & Rufus have made sure that all necessary amenities are in hand to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. The Hut is equipped with a mini kitchen, including gas stove, kettle, cafetière, mini-fridge, toaster and cutlery/crockery for those who wish to stay in and cook their meals as well as access to hot/cold tap sink. The hot cocoa, tea, and coffee available on site was lovely. We experienced all forms of Cornish weather during our stay, and the Hut stayed beautifully warm and dry (the wood stove was lovely). There are running electrics to the Hut as well to charge phones (but you’ll definitely want to disconnect to enjoy the view of the fields and sea and sounds of local wildlife). The bed was so comfortable! Slept like a dream every evening. Toilet/shower block very clean, with towels/linens available and the shower was comfortably hot (didn’t take long to warm up at all). What made this location extra special were the small thoughtful touches. Fresh eggs and vegetables from the farm available on request, the welcome flapjack on arrival, and local knowledge of off the beaten track locations to explore made this trip a gem. Also Lizzie & Rufus provided lots of recommendations of where to eat in the various local hotspots. Doggies were welcome (my little Border Terrier joined me on the trip) and he greatly enjoyed his Cornish adventure. There is a short walk from where you park your car to the Hut, but very manageable. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway with beautiful local views, comfortable home-away-from-home accommodation and a fantastic hub to explore the surrounding area (excellent location to hit the various entry points of the Coastal Paths) Red Skies is just the place for you! Would definitely return and highly recommend.
