Powered gravel and cement/asphalt RV campsite
Liked Friendly welcome from owner.
Stunning views.
Quiet location.
Added quirky touches.
The holiday cabins looked lovely.
Disliked The eco toilet shed had subsided slightly, so quite difficult to sit down and stand back up, especially if your legs are aching from lots of walking.
I love the concept but would advise having own toilet facilities.

Bothy camping pod (no pets, deluxe)
Liked We were travelling in our campervan but stayed in a Bothy Camping Pod for the night due to storms but I had mistakenly booked for the wrong date.
The owners dealt with the situation so calmly and professionally, reassuring us not to worry and they would find us accommodation.
Fortunately we got to stay in the camping pod which I would describe more as a luxury cabin.
It had everything you needed, a comfortable king size bed, small dining table and chairs, kitchenette, toilet (use of communal showers) lovely covered veranda with benches and so very cosy.
All staff very friendly, the site and facilities were all spotless and well maintained.
The location was ideal.
Local amenities near by.
Close to public transport links for Edinburgh, free car park.
Would definitely recommend and return when in area.
Disliked Nothing.

Primitive grass RV campsite
Liked Excellent value for money.
This is a pop up campsite.
Huge flat field, pitch where you want.
Basic but spotlessly clean facilities, everything you need. Toilets and showers are uni sex but this is made very clear in their information.
Super efficient book in. Young girl and her friends were super friendly, polite and very professional. Advised us where everything was, brought us a fire pit at no extra charge.
Really relaxed and super friendly site. Would definitely recommend and return when they’re open again.

FHU grass campsite (comfort)
Liked Friendly welcome by owners, helped that they both spoke English. All facilities spotless. Pitches generously sized and all hedge lined. Swimming pool, cafe and bar but we didn’t use so can’t comment.
Aldi 5mins drive away.
10min walk into lovely village, monastary ruin (entry fee). Some lovely looking restaurants too.
Small supermarket within walking distance too but we only saw that on leaving.

Field stay primitive grass and earth tent or trailer tent campsite (large)
Liked Quiet location, basic campsite. Only 2 shower and flushing toilet cubicles. Ports loos scattered around the fields. Washing up area with kettle, toaster and microwave.
Great farm shop on site.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Not sure what there is to do locally as only stopped one night.
Good site for group camping as you can choose you pitch. Plenty of tucked away areas.
Very laid back feel.
Would return.
Disliked Imagine there would be a long wait for showers in high season. Maybe take alternative option eg solar shower.

Powered grass campsite
Liked Lovely site, well maintained, generous sized pitches all had EHU and drinking water.
Showers, toilet block and washing up area.
X2 individual toilets also within site and heated too!!!
All spotless (other than muddy footprints but that’s a given when it wet and raining).
Variety of scenic walks on the doorstep.
Pub ‘The George Inn’ on site with plenty of choice and dogs allowed but in bar area only.
The steak melted in your mouth and the meal portions are very good and reasonable priced.
They do daily carvery from 12md and a breakfast menu from 9-12.
Free WiFi in pub if you need it.
Disliked Barrier at entrance, warden lets you in initially then you get a card (£10 deposit) to activate it during your stay.
