Liked The location is within walking distance of bars, restaurants and shops; which is handy. The food vans over the weekend were brilliant. Showers and toilets were clean and you were not left waiting for them to become available as there were plenty of them. The site is pretty and our pitch was clearly defined.
Disliked I can’t believe no one has spoke about the loudness of the ducks. I live near the Chase and I’m used to varied wildlife but these ducks do not stop squawking (it’s not even a quack). I know, not the sites doing but a heads up to bring earbuds maybe? It’s relentless, all night. The site is very much geared up for children which is good but the children are not supervised, again it’s not the sites fault but maybe a reminder to guests to supervise their children especially being so close to water. I witnessed on two seperate occasions cars coming into close contact as children were running over the roads on the park. I’ve been camping to a fair few different places this past year and this is by far the loudest place; rules of quiet time are not enforced both AM and PM- 6:40am start is not the type of camp I’m looking for. Whilst the showers were clean it is very cold in there when dressing, the water temp is also fixed , this was disappointing.

Liked Wonderful greeting with everything explained very well, information also then given to us to read. Pitch was a great size, great washing facilities and loads of bathrooms and showers. Exceptionally clean site! Very friendly staff.
Disliked Not the managements fault but traffic noise was a little annoying; there must be a race track near by, although why they race late I do not know.

From the manager: Thank you for the top score Kelly. We are very pleased your stay was so lovely and that you will be back. There is a motor cross track about 4 miles away that they occasionally use for night meets. Not very regular but if the wind is in the wrong direction then we sometimes hear some back ground noise. I am sorry if this caused you any issues during your visit.

Liked Very friendly owners; clean and well kept grounds. Lovely pub a five minute walk away next to a river that you can paddle in (all dog friendly) feel like it’s very much a stop for a night/two kind of place. We extended our stay as we are local but many people came and went within our 3 nights.
Disliked The size of the toilet cubicle is tiny! It’s difficult to move about (pull your trousers up 😂) they’re cute and quirky but not great. The shower again is absolutely adorable but you can’t change the heat setting- it was so hot I left my shampoo on and rinsed at the caravan.

Liked Absolutely perfect! The host is the most welcoming person; very informative and genuinely happy to be there. Toilet and shower facilities are clean and as the site is small, you’re not wondering around for ages in the night. It’s quiet but within an east 10 minute walk to the beach. The food at the North Sea lookout is nice but the food at a local pub called the Trafalga is amazing; don’t be put off by the very dated decor- they know how to cook! The site has the added bonus of a stunning, unspoiled sunset. We will definitely be back. Thank you for making our time away lovely. :)
