Liked Solitude
Disliked Not a single sign of site manager / owner reception was achieved via phone number on pitch up …..… The advertised services .. of evening food and drink ..did not materialise …. Toilets and showers needed updating… empty bottles and glasses left in communal areas. This was a mid August stop over and we are left feeling very unhappy from a comparatively expensive site that failed to deliver the facilities it advertised ….

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to review your 1 night stay, and finding everything unacceptable to you, the glasses were being returned from visitors that had permission from me to take there drinks back to there pitches, as well there had been a few parties that had a leaving party, but why am i explaining this to you you were obviously not liking anything. The bar would have been open on request as well as the kitchen

Disliked Pitch size and clubhouse prices coffee wagon didn’t open during our stop

From the manager: Hi Nick, thanks for staying with us. We're sorry you found the pitch sizes small, they are standard size pitches as advised by the Camping Club, & the pitch you were on was at the end of the grass sites so you had plenty of room to spread if needed. With regard to the clubhouse prices, they are approximately 20% cheaper than the local pubs, and are "club prices" & as cheap as we can realistically make them, a pint in the local pubs is on average £7, our is £5.95.... The coffee wagon is a visiting enterprise & not run by the club, they have very clear signage which states opening times are Saturday & Sundays between 8am & 1pm.. Thanks for staying with us & we're pleased you enjoyed your stay.
