  • Friendly, scenic RV park next to the Snake River in Idaho
  • Within 15 minutes’ drive of the Sunnyslope wine region vineyards
  • Fishing from the dock or river banks; boat launch facility
Wake up next to the spectacular Snake River at Snake River RV Resort in Idaho. There are plenty of ways to ‘seize the day’ here, whether it’s launching your kayak, canoe or boat from the boat launch or settling in at the dock or river bank for a productive morning of fishing. The Snake River has trout, salmon, bass, perch and sturgeon living in its scenic waters. The friendly RV park is right on the river’s edge and well-equipped with restrooms, showers, a laundromat and wifi facilities. It’s handily placed for those coming from afar, too, near the highways and byways of North America; Route 95 is just a five-minute drive away. Pull in, set yourself up and unwind… there’s plenty of shade from the mature trees around the grounds. If your version of unwinding also tends to include a nice glass of wine, that can easily be arranged with a short drive to the Sunnyslope Wine Region. Starting around a 15-minute drive away from the park, the 19 wineries and vineyards along the Sunnyslope Wine Trail are a tip-top place to go wine-tasting. There's no need to think too much about where to go grocery shopping or dining from Snake River RV Resort, either, as the location is a five-minute drive away from the city of Homedale.

Local attractions

Have you heard of rockhounding? If not, you might hear it referenced more than a few times at Snake River RV Resort, as this part of Idaho is excellent for searching for minerals and gemstones. The nearest rockhounding hotspot is Graveyard Point (10 minutes’ drive), but other spots like War Eagle Mountain (two hours and 15 minutes) and Bennett Mountain (two hours) are within driving distance too. If you’re more interested in archaeology than the art of rockhounding, take yourself to Celebration Park (45 minutes), Idaho’s first archaeological park. The free guided tours will show you around the old petroglyphs, ranging from 100 to 10,000 years old, and the park also has hiking trails and the historic Guffey Railroad Bridge. Those of you who can’t resist a good family picnic (perhaps one with some ball games?) can take your pick from local parks like the Homedale City Park (five minutes) and Sundance Park (five minutes). Another nice afternoon outing idea is the AgVenture Trail (25 minutes), which begins in downtown Caldwell before visiting local farms and orchards. As you might expect, there are plenty of chances to eat and pick fresh farm produce along the way. Now, Shoshone Falls Park (two hours and 45 minutes) is a little further afield, but well worth it for the view of the huge, misty waterfalls.
