  • Wild and secluded sites at a 30-acre Oklahoma campground
  • A 50-minute drive to Tulsa; hour and a quarter to Oklahoma City
  • Views over Twin Mounds valley; easy access from the highway
This is a special spot for your Oklahoma getaway – if you’re looking for somewhere to get away from daily life and truly decompress, Sky Valley Acres could well be the place for you. In fact, that need to slow down was what drew the owners here in the first place, and now they’re keen to welcome guests who share that passion for the wild outdoors. And wild it sure is, with 30 acres of natural prairie to its name and a location at the highest point in the county giving fabulous views over the Twin Mounds valley. It’s not just the location that makes this place special – it’s got a whole lot of history to discover, too. Guests have recently learned about the property’s long-distant past as a Native American ceremonial ground and the part it played in the Civil War of the 19th century. Not only that – a local gazette from the 1940s suggests there may be buried treasure around here somewhere… There’s plenty of local heritage to explore in the surrounding area as well, along with various outdoor activities including hiking, mountain biking and golf. And despite this being a rural location, you’ll be able to get back to city life easily enough if you want to, as the property has easy access to two main highways for trips to Tulsa or Oklahoma City (or to the nearest supermarket, 10 minutes away). At the campground, there’s plenty of space and privacy, and guests have access to simple facilities including picnic tables, a washing-up area and restrooms. There’s wifi on site and most areas have good cellphone coverage as well.
