Swecamp Bomstadbaden

This place is primed for outdoorsy peeps: there's a good jogging track two kilometres from base (extra enthusiastic runners can hotfoot it over there), and three golf courses lie within 18 kilometres of the park. For something more sedentary, shop til you drop in close by Karlstad and its huge mall, or soak up a spot of culture at the exhibits of Sandgrund Lars Lerin art gallery. The outdoor baths at Kroppkärrsbadet are also a swell place to relax at: there's a beach and a manicured lawn to laze on, plus a small pier to promenade along; bring some burgers and make a day of it too, because there's also a barbecue area for alfresco family grill ups. There's lots for littlies to do around Bomstadbaden's locale: take them to a soft play centre or Sundstabadet waterpark, both around 12 kilometres away; older ones and grownups alike will have fun at the paintballing centre, an easy eight kilometres away.
