If you've tried the Costa del Sol, the Costa Blanca and the Costa Brava, too, and feel it’s high time to discover one of Spain’s less busy Mediterranean stretches, consider the Costa del Azahar (which translates as the ‘orange blossom coast’), on the Balearic Sea. On the outskirts of the seaside resort of Peñíscola, a 35-minute drive north of Benicàssim, is Camping Peñíscola, a dog-friendly spot with spacious gravel and hardstanding pitches for convenient coastal breaks. Camping Peñíscola is run by a family, and they know what families need when they are on holiday, starting with a playground with a bouncy castle, and an activity programme that includes live music, flamenco shows and pétanque competitions. The owners also have ambitious plans for the future, with two pools in the works (including a swim-up bar and a toddlers’ pool with waterslides), a splash park and a multisports court. Until then, guests will have to go to the beach for their daily swim – and it’s no great sacrifice, especially if you have a bike: it takes about 15 minutes to cycle to sandy Playa de Peñíscola (10 minutes if you drive); from June to September, a public bus stopping in front of the site connects to the beach and the town centre. Easy-peasy. Restaurants dot the palm tree-lined promenade at Peñíscola, and there's also a varied menu available at the on-site eatery. Also on site are a modern toilet/shower block (with amenities for disabled guests), a launderette and a drying room.

  • The campground/park does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Breed-specific legislation (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.

  • The outdoor swimming pool is open between 01/06 and 30/09 (subject to weather conditions).

  • Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.
  • 4kWh of electricity is included per day. Further usage is metered on site at €0.45 per kWh and is payable on departure.

Liked What a wonderful campsite this is upon arrival the staff were all very welcoming. Our pitch was very good had electric and water
The facilities were fantastic the shower blocks were excellent, spotless, hot running water. There were individual toilets then a large cubicle which had your shower, toilet hand basin and electric point too.
The bar area was very big inside and out, kept very clean.
The staff were very approachable, always greeted you with a smile nothing was too much trouble ☺️
The food selection was great a wide choice, the breakfasts were fantastic presented well, hot ...lots of entertainment each night too including flamenco dancing, bingo,
We loved it so much we stayed an extra night.
A visit to Penisacola town is well with a visit with good beaches, castle restaurants etc
We will definitely be back next year...thank you to everyone at camping Peniscola ☺️☺️

Liked Wir waren nur 1 Nacht da auf der Durchreise. Daher für uns die Lage optimal.
Der Platz war super, sehr groß mit eigenem Spülbecken und sauber.
Die Sanitäranlagen waren tip top und sehr sauber.
Die kurzfristige Buchung hat einwandfrei geklappt.
Gern wieder.

Liked Ein sehr schöner und überaus sauberer Campingplatz. Sanitärbereich top, sehr schöne Poolanlage. Peñiscola gut in ca. 15 Minuten mit dem Rad zu erreichen.

Liked Helaas kan ik daar na deze ervaring niets positiefs meer over zeggen. Wat in eerste instantie een mooie vakantie voor ons gezin had moeten worden, is door deze gebeurtenis volledig overschaduwd. Vooral het verdriet van mijn 3-jarige dochter en de manier waarop mijn vrouw en zij uit het zwembad zijn gestuurd, heeft ervoor gezorgd dat er voor ons niets meer is om met een goed gevoel op terug te kijken.

Disliked Helaas heeft ons verblijf op deze camping een zeer nare en verdrietige wending gekregen. Wij zijn speciaal vanuit Nederland helemaal naar Spanje gereisd om samen met ons gezin een mooie vakantie te hebben. Nooit hadden wij verwacht dat wij zoiets zouden meemaken.

Mijn vrouw en mijn dochtertje van slechts 3 jaar zijn door twee medewerkers uit het zwembad gestuurd vanwege de kleding die mijn vrouw droeg. Wat ons het meest heeft geraakt, is niet alleen de manier waarop dit gebeurde, maar vooral de impact die het had op ons kleine meisje.

Mijn dochter van 3 keek enorm uit naar het zwembad en had er ontzettend veel plezier. Door deze situatie werd haar plezier volledig weggenomen. Ze begreep niet waarom ze ineens het zwembad uit moest en liep uiteindelijk huilend en diep verdrietig met ons mee.

Als ouders was het hartverscheurend om je kind zo te zien huilen tijdens een vakantie waarvoor je als gezin zo’n lange reis hebt gemaakt. Wij zijn helemaal vanuit Nederland naar Spanje gekomen om mooie herinneringen te maken, maar helaas is dit een herinnering geworden die ons gezin niet snel zal vergeten.

Wij hadden van onze vakantie iets heel anders verwacht. Helaas heeft deze gebeurtenis voor ons een groot deel van de vreugde en het vakantiegevoel weggenomen.
