A mere 50 metres from Playa de Les Amplàries beach and with facilities open in every season: this seaside site on the Costa del Azahar is one that’s highly attractive in all seasons. There's no shutting doors to the pool, activities or other leisurely pursuits at Camping Didota once high season ends, for this amiable place on the edge of Oropesa del Mar ensures access to all its facilities and events as long as the site is open. Included among that list are an outdoor swimming pool, a covered pool, a gym, a play area, a library and a social lounge – plenty to keep you occupied whether you’re feeling active or prefer to chill out. Practical facilities are well thought out here too – you’ll have access to a restaurant and a chiringuito (snack bar), along with a launderette and a wifi service. Pets are welcome, and there’s a handy dog shower for keeping them nice and clean. Summer is the liveliest time, of course; during high season there are activities laid on for all ages – think dance classes, kids’ story time, live music and open-air films. Have a chat with staff and they can help you book trips to local attractions or watersports sessions like kayaking and paddleboarding. The beach may well be the centre of attention for many guests here, but there are plenty of other options around for getting out and about – perhaps taking a walk or bike ride along the coastal greenway or heading into Oropesa del Mar to visit its historic and cultural sites.

Great beachfront site with spacious, shady pitches. Facilities are clean, showers are excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful. Lovely bar/restaurant with sea views. Some found pitches tight for big rigs, and Wi-Fi can be spotty. Local town is quiet off-season; occasional noise from sports fields or building.

Liked The bathrooms were lovely, cleaned frequently and lovely showers. Perfect for the beach as located amazing. Great washing machine facilities with WiFi payment options. Reception staff very friendly and when we had a slight issue with pitch size (twin axle motorhome) we were able to move to a more appropriate sized pitch. Walking distance to supermarket (15mins). Great onsite pool

Disliked Limited menu options mainly fish in the restaurant (perfect for the husband) and unable to sit close to the sea view in the evening for dinner. Pool closes for cleaning between 2-4pm.

Liked La amabilidad y el trato de la persona de la limpieza (una chica súper agradable). Que el camping tiene acceso directo a la playa.
Los aseos e instalaciones siempre muy limpias. Muy bien los fregaderos, habían muchos y limpios.
El último día, la chica de recepción fue muy educada y agradable (no como la del primer día, que el trato y recibimiento fue horroroso).

Disliked El recibimiento en la recepción nefasto, lo único que le preocupaba era “pasa la tarjeta”. Ninguna explicación, al revés, nos habló bastante mal. Por ejemplo, hasta mitad de la estancia no sabíamos ni que había monitores para los niños. No nos explicó nada de nada, de hecho, parecía que hasta le molestábamos.
El trato del personal del bar/restaurante CALMA, realmente muy desagradables el trato. Siempre hablaban mal, siempre agobiados (incluso cuando no habían casi mesas ocupadas). El colmo fue que no tenían sitio para cenar porque solo “cogían” una o dos mesas para cenar cada media hora (cuando el sitio tiene muchísimas más mesas), y me dijo que es que solo era un cocinero y podía atender a más.
Las calles dan muy mala sensación, bordillos rotos, asfalto levantado,…
Las parcelas tienen muy poca sombra, los toldos que hay son pequeños (por lo visto, hubo una tormenta y el viento destrozó los árboles).
El wifi que dicen que hay… mentira. No va.
Saltaba la luz 2 o 3 veces al día.

Liked L'emplacement est génial. Entre piscine et mer. C'est fantastique.

Disliked Les nuits agitées
Des travaux à proximité. Les ouvriers travaillent la nuit. Les ballons qui claquent dans les cages de foot et les sorties de discothèque. Heureusement que nous sommes restés deux nuits. Sommeil pas très réparateur.
La piscine est malheureusement en mauvaise état (manque de carreaux notamment)

Liked Close to the beach, large pitches, plenty of toilets and showers, and working Wi-Fi.

Disliked The pool water was a little dirty, with lots of hair floating in it. Some of the tiles on the bottom and walls are also coming loose.

Local attractions

An amusement park, waterpark, go-karting and sports courts are in the area surrounding Camping Didota, with loads more attractions within easy reach. Beaches, coves and watersports are close by too, and the wetlands of the Prat de Cabanes-Torreblanca Natural Park are under 10 minutes' drive to the north. Take your two wheels along the greenway coastal path to the small but lively town of Benicàssim, home to the world-famed FIB music festival every summer, or take to four wheels to reach other well-known Valencian seaside towns like Villafamés (30 minutes), or Sagunto and Peñiscola, both 50 minutes away. Province capital Valencia is about an hour and 10 minutes' drive. Kids might clamour for a day or three at mighty PortAventura, reachable in the other direction from Valencia within about an hour and a half. Back to the south, the zoo and African creatures of Bioparc Valencia are just over an hour from the site.
