  • Quiet Costa Dorada site by the sea, with direct beach access
  • A short drive from PortAventura and the Ebro Delta Natural Park
  • Seasonal pools, sports area, restaurant and supermarket
Costa Dorada coastline, Catalonian coves, Spanish theme parks and a splendid Spanish nature reserve… all await at Tarragona's Camping Ametlla near the Catalonian fishing town of L'Ametlla de Mar on the northeastern coast. The site is right next to the sea, with direct access to two coves, and in an area of natural interest. It's also close to the wetlands of the Ebro Delta Natural Park and a 35-minute drive from the theme park PortAventura World. This is a prime place to explore the scenery of Costa Dorada. Camping Ametlla has a family-friendly atmosphere and arranges entertainment and activities for all ages during high season. Taste the local cuisine in the bar-restaurant or take charge of your own food by shopping in the on-site shop. A playground, a sports area and seasonal outdoor pools are also on site.

What customers say

This campground gets kudos for its spacious, clean sites and great amenities, like a nice pool and well-kept washrooms. Campers loved the bar, store, and kids' activities, with easy access to a pebble beach and coves being a big plus. While generally clean and with friendly staff, Wi-Fi signal could be spotty, and it got crowded in peak season. Restaurant/pizzeria reviews were mixed.

Liked Very tranquil stunning walks and coves, site was clean, very everything you could ask for

Disliked Going in April the site was quiet, and the beaches almost empty , shower block very quiet too so there really was nothing to dislike about this lovely site.
It was also cheaper to stay in this beautiful well equipped site than other sites that were no way near this standard.will absolutely love to come again.

Liked Pitches were spacious, easy check in, nice walks from the pitch, waste emptying facilities. Clean toilets and showers

Disliked Even though spaces were spacious very piled up next to eachother, very busy site and quite noisy at night. On the expensive side compared to many other campsites weve been using whilst travelling across Spain.

Local attractions

As it's the coast, fishing and watersports are handily available nearby, along with other active options like hiking, cycling and wandering around the Ebro Delta Natural Park, one of the biggest wetland areas of the western Med. The five areas and many rides of the PortAventura theme park are also nearby in Salou; plan a couple of days for here to also dive into the Costa Caribe Aquatic Park and down its huge freefall slide. And then another day for Salou itself, the ancient port town of beaches, coves, the Lumine Golf Club and the Auditorium Theatre. About 10 kilometres from Salou is Tarragona, a fab city filled with Roman ruins: it was used as a colony and fortress by the Scipios during Rome's lengthy spat with the Carthaginians. The Roman ruins of Tarragona are now a UNESCO World Heritage Site with piles of Latin remains to see: frankly you'd need to stay in town for a month or so to see the whole heap, but if you can only manage a day or two, top picks for most folk would be the old city walls, the Tarragona Amphitheatre and, just outside town, Les Ferreres Aqueduct.
