Coming to Catalonia and hoping to spend a good deal of time on the beach? Book in at Camping El Toro Azul and you’ll be able to stroll out onto the sand whenever you fancy it – this family-friendly touring site in Arenys de Mar has direct access to Cavalló beach. This is a nifty location indeed for a beach break – the area just by the site is pretty peaceful and suitable for laidback family days, but it’s easy to stroll a little further along to the section by the marina, which has a good cluster of restaurants and bars, along with watersports centres for paddleboarding, kayaking, jetskiing and the like. The centre of town is also easily walkable (about 20 minutes) for shops and more places to eat and drink. The beach may well be the main focus here, but it’s not your only option for a day of activity – the mountainous area just inland is great for hiking and cycling, and days out in Barcelona can be on the cards too (the city is about 40 minutes’ drive away, or a little over an hour by train). Whether you ever get to Barcelona is another matter of course… in fact, this site is very conducive to lazy days pottering between the beach, the open-air pool and the on-site restaurant and bar – perhaps with the odd detour to the play park or the pétanque court if you’ve got active kids with you. On the practical side, facilities like showers (with constant hot water), a laundry service and wifi should mean everything runs smoothly during your holiday.

This site's clean & pleasant, with friendly reception, great restaurant & a lovely pool. Close to the beach too! But watch out for rude bar staff, train/road noise, inconsistent toilet upkeep & varied pitch sizes. Can be busy, not for quiet seekers.

Liked Un accueil très agréable, camping entre la route et la voie ferrée mais cela ne nous a pas gêné , Sanitaires et douches propres. Accès à la plage juste en face du camping. La proximité à pied comme à vélo d’Arenys de Mar et de Canet de Mar est un atout aussi . une petite semaine reposante et amusante avec nos enfants (balade à vélo, à pieds, journée à Barcelone ). le personnel du restaurant italien à coté est super gentil

Liked A great site, we really enjoyed our 5 nights here. The only suggestion is as a wheelchair user the showers and toilets are not really user friendly and could do with a dedicated wash room for wheelchair users. But I did manage.

Liked Campsite site was nice plenty of room for large motorhome clean showers toilets wash pots sinks and laundry nice swimming pool and lounges with umbrellas

Disliked No buses near and as we pensioners found it a long walk to train station and to the port

Liked Stayed for one night to visit Barcelona - 15mins walking to a station in one direction and 18mins in the other (other direction is a more pleasant walk) so super convenient.
Clean showers, toilets and laundry facilities.

Has hesitations about noise as other reviews mentioned but we had no issues with this whatsoever.

Local attractions

Beach and watersports may well fill much of your time, but it’s worth noting there are more activity options close by as well – perhaps you’d like a game of tennis (five minutes’ walk), a round of golf (15 minutes’ drive) or the chance to clamber up into the trees at Activ Natura Parc d’Aventura (20 minutes). Walks, too – the Parc del Montnegre i el Corredor (20 minutes) is a lovely place for a stroll among coastal woodlands, with several Neolithic and Iberian historic sites to look out for along the way. Arty types may like to follow the sculpture trail at Bosc Artístic d’Ernest Borràs i Berta Julivert (25 minutes), while more intrepid visitors go further inland to the mountains around Montseny (45 minutes).
