  • Motorhome/caravan park in Beas de Granada town centre
  • A 20-minute drive to Granada; half an hour to Sierra Nevada
  • Spacious serviced pitches a short walk from shops and restaurants
Parking up for a few nights at Camper Park Beas de Granada is a fine idea indeed – this location right in the centre of Beas de Granada is an excellent one for all sorts of excursions, including hikes and mountain bike rides in the Sierra de Huétor and Sierra Nevada or days of wandering around the gorgeous city of Granada. The town centre location is a handy one too, because it puts you within easy walking distance of shops, bars, banks and places to eat – plus bus stops for easy jaunts to Granada. And if you need a little extra incentive, legend has it that there’s treasure buried somewhere in the town… The touring park is a well-equipped one too, with spacious motorhome/caravan pitches that have water and electrical connections as well as access to waste water facilities. Toilets, showers, sinks and a launderette are also on site, along with a wifi connection for keeping in touch and a mini market for those times when you don't fancy venturing out. Dogs are welcome to join you for a stay here as long as they’re kept on a lead and supervised.

Power optional gravel and sand travel trailer campsite

Liked: Great location for visiting Granada. Easy and cheap bus ride, stops right outside the campsite. Well maintained and clean, the owner sent us loads of useful information before we arrived about the local area, bus times etc. Great wifi connection.

Disliked: There are about 3 dogs in the local village that barked all night. As I light sleeper this kept me awake virtually all night, otherwise its a very peaceful site

Local attractions

There’s some stunning scenery around here, so make sure you bring mountain bikes and/or walking boots to make the most of it. Sierra de Huétor Natural Park (10 minutes’ drive) is the place to start – the dramatic mountain landscape is full of intriguing spots like the Cueva del Agua (20 minutes) and springs like Fuente de la Teja (also 20 minutes), plus some great hiking and biking trails. For more of those fabulous views, you could take to the treetop trails and ziplines of Aventura Amazonia (10 minutes) to see it all from above (and sometimes at high speed). Alternatively, stick to ground level and set off to the Sierra Nevada National Park (half an hour), where trails run through the highest mountains in continental Spain, and ski resorts open up in winter. You’ll get something of a change of scenery if you set off to Granada (20 minutes, or 40 minutes by bus). The Alhambra is the highlight of this well-preserved historic city, but it's also worth taking a walk through the Generalife gardens, exploring the Arab quarter and popping into the cathedral and El Bañuelo ancient bath house.
