- Adults-only site created by motorhomers
- Dolphin watching, scuba diving and boat trips from Vilamoura
- Movie nights and café showing all the main sporting fixtures
Set among the lemon and orange groves of Vilamoura in the Algarve, Vilamoura Rustic Motorhome Aire is a privately-owned adults-only site that's been set up by motorhomers for motorhomers. And it's easy to see why this site's motorhome masters chose to set up shop in the Algarve: it gets more than 300 days of glorious sunshine per year.
For when you can't quite be bothered to cook for yourself, the on-site café serves a vast range of eats including nightly meals, desserts and snacks, fish and chips, burgers, pizza, lasagne, risotto and soups etc. Vegetarian meals are always available too for those of you who don't munch meat.
Away from the food, there's plenty of good entertainment around as well; armchair athletes will be happy to learn that the café shows all the main sporting fixtures, from Premier League games to F1 racing, rugby, golf and more, plus there are regular movie nights in an air conditioned cinema room for your viewing pleasure.
Facilities available at an extra charge include a washing machine and drier, and bike, sun lounger and charcoal barbecue rental.
English is the primary language spoken on site, but the owners try their best to accommodate travellers from all over the world.

Local attractions
The coastal town of Quarteira – famed for its long sandy beach, tall white buildings and age-old fishing community – is a good spot to hit up within a short drive if you're after somewhere that's popular with the Portuguese.
Heaps of freshly caught fish coming into its harbour every day means you've loads of choice when it comes to eating out in the restaurants that lie along the palm-lined promenade of Avenida Infante de Sagres. If you're somewhat of a shopping swot, you're bound to pick up a few bargains at the big flea market that takes place in Quarteira every Wednesday.
When you find yourself craving quieter climes, stroll along Quarteira's beachfront over to Vilamoura (it isn't far) and soak up the sights at the marina. It'll actually take you longer to wander around the marina than it did for you to walk from Quarteira beach to Vliamoura's Marina beach, but if you've still got a few beans left in you, you can walk all the way from Falésia beach, on the western side of Vilamoura Marina, north to Olhos de Água, which lies next door to Albufeira, a vibrant coastal city with a modern marina that's also used as a base for scuba diving and dolphin watching and the departure point for boat trips.
Alternatively, skip the lovely long beach walk, save your legs and stay put in Vliamoura, where you can hop on the tourist train that departs from the car park behind Marina beach and trundles around the town.
Other things definitely worth knowing about the area around Vilamoura Rustic Motorhome Aire is that it's home to 10 excellent golf courses, and you're within easy reach of hikes in the Loulé hills.
