What customers say

A well-kept, quiet campsite with friendly, helpful staff. Praised for spotless washrooms, great on-site bar/restaurant, and spacious, level pitches (many self-selected). Ideal for exploring countryside & towns. Multiple play areas make it family-friendly. A popular return spot.

From the manager: Good Afternoon,

We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay on our campsite.
However, we as a team feel obligated to highlight that the reasons for your negative review have nothing to do with our management or upkeep of the campsite.

The fact that other Campers do not respect the campsite´s rules is unfortunate but surely not our fault nor does it merit a 1/10 rating.

I hope other potential clients will ignore this review because of the unrealistic image it paints, and will referr to the numerous positive reviews on PitchUp.

Thank you,
We look forward to not welcoming you again,

Camping Ettelbruck Team

Liked Site was very clean and quiet, very good if you have kids, toilets and showers were very nice and clean, nice little restaurant and bar on the site, had fresh baked bread in the morning at a small fee.

Liked The setting is lovely. Location is very central for all parts of Luxembourg, with its great free public transport network and the nearby town has useful facilities. The countryside around is pretty attractive and has plenty of enjoyable hiking - plenty of cyclists were in evidence on the site.

The site facilities were good and the on site restaurant was good enough to attract some local custom - always a recommendation. Pitches are fairly close to level. The on site staff were helpful and friendly. The morning baked goods service (order by 1600 the previous day - cash only) was a real treat.

Disliked No complaints and none of these observations spoiled our enjoyment but some may find these points useful. The site is across a valley from highway N15. This is busy and can be quite noisy with lorries working hard climbing the hill or using exhaust barking on the way down, sometimes quite early and late. This does become back ground, but don't expect the total quiet of a more remote site. The downside of using Luxembourg's excellent and free public transport network is often an uphill walk from the town at the end of the day (there are a few buses, they are not as late as a typical return from a trip further afield). Wi-Fi across the whole site would be useful, (as advert notes) it is only available at reception (and in the adjacent bar / restaurant).

Liked Just what we needed after a 10 hour drive! Friendly staff, nice food, good atmosphere, nice pitches, clean; will return.

Disliked It was not easy to fill our water container as the tap was above a sink and we did not have a hose. We managed though. It was just for one night this time

Liked Lovely little site just outside of the lovely village of Ettelbruck. Fantastic transport links to Luxembourg City. Great restaurant / bar with friendly staff. Special mention to Julie who gave great advice about travelling around the city and the fair which was in town. Good clean shower block and facilities. Would definitely return.

Disliked Nothing.

Liked Lovely campsite - a good base for walking three local trails or for a day trip to Luxembourg on a free half-hour-long train ride. The station is only about 30 minutes walk away but a steep hill on the way back. The campsite was really clean with lots of toilets and showers and a lovely bar restaurant area. The staff spoke English and were always on hand. We really liked this site for our roof tent as was a good flat , spacious pitch with electric . It was quiet at night time too. It’s worth hiring the electric bikes for €2 once in the city of Luxembourg as you can explore the old city easily which has wonderful parks .

Local attractions

Getting around from Camping Ettelbruck is easy – it’s a 15-minute walk to the centre of town and the station, which has services connecting to the rest of the country. If you can’t face the walk, the city bus passes the site five times a day and will transport your bikes for free. A good way to get around the area is by bike – you can hire them on site and you’ll be given an information pack with details of some good local routes. One recommendation is to head south towards Colmar-Berg (six kilometres away) where you can visit the Château de Berg and then cool off at the Nordpool, a waterpark with paddling pools and waterslides. Plenty of other cycle routes start from the site or nearby. Site staff can also recommend walking trails starting from the site, or you can drive for half an hour to reach the Müllerthal region, known as Little Switzerland for its range of scenic trails.
