Well, what a spot to rest world-weary heads. When you’re craving an adults-only hideaway in the Veneto Alps, surely Agricampeggio l’Essenza will suit? Set high on a mountainside with spectacular views of Lake Garda, this pristine and peaceful spot really is a rather special sanctuary from modern life. By day life drifts around the outdoor swimming pool and sun deck overlooking the lake. When you’ve had your fill of lazing on a sun bed or swimming leisurely laps, retire to the terrace bar and enjoy a glass of something chilled while you watch the sun set over the lake. If you can summon up enough energy, head down to the lakeside for pasta and seafood feasts in Castelletto (15 minutes’ drive) restaurants, or pick up picnic supplies in the basics store in pretty Brenzone sul Garda (20 minutes). Chances are, however, that you’ll prefer to hang out at your mountain retreat and cuddle the rabbits that run freely about the place. Pick a spot among the tree-shaded terraces on the hillside, all facing the lake and all equipped with electricity and water. Facilities include a modern shower and toilet block, with separate facilities for men and women, a dishwashing area and a USB charging point so you can power up devices and keep in touch with the outside world.

Liked Absolutely everything is perfect! The view is STUNNING. We watched the different sunsets every day with a well chosen wine from the well stocked bar. Great location for travelling to spots around Lake Garda. The site is on a slope so Neomi zips around on her golf cart moving luggage for people on arrival. The host never stops and does everything she can for people. She even does her own honey and skincare.
The food served is so fresh that it is literally picked from the polytunnels on site then served to you, beautifully presented and prepared. Bread can be ordered each day.
Toilets and showers modern and clean. Pool lovely and cleaned daily.
Adults only means it is peaceful and quite simply the perfect retreat.
Loved the bunnies hopping about the place too.
We had a wonderful stay and we'll be back!

Liked Wow what a find, Noemi is a perfect host from the minute of arrival, the steep climb up the drives takes you to paradise, a haven of relaxation. Overlooks Lake Garda from up high on perfectly manicured pitch. We eat at the restaurant, the food was so good and competitively priced, cooked with locally produced products on site. Would 100% recommend however if longer than a transporter/custom sized van make sure you email Noemi as she has a couple of pitches that can accommodate the LWB Ducatos and sprinter sized vans

Disliked Going out their drive and turning right got a bit hairy and narrow back to the main road

Liked The site was idyllic. Beautiful setting with lovely views of the lake with lovely tired, level pitches. The facilities were fantastic and very lean and the staff were very polite and friendly.

The small bar was a bonus as was their selection of snacks.

Disliked This is not really a dislike, but a comment. The site is set high in the hills making it difficult for us to use our bikes to get around. Our fault

To reach the site, you must take the main road. From the direction of San Zeno di Montagna, the site is 500 metres after the Fasse restaurant on the right. Don't leave the main road for any of the dirt roads or other turnings.

If you can tear yourself away from those stunning Lake Garda views on site, cyclists and walks can get a different perspective on the lake by following the gentle Malcesine cycle and pedestrian path (25 minutes’ drive) as it meanders along the shoreline. If you’ve got a head for heights, grab a seat in a rotating car on the Malcesine cableway (half an hour) and head up to the summit of Monte Baldo for more far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding peaks. The historic city of Verona (55 minutes) repays a day trip with city vistas from the top of the spindly Torre dei Lamberti, a romantic stop-off at Casa di Giulietta of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ fame and an aperitivo in a lively Piazza Bra café, as well as a summer-long opera festival in the ancient Roman-era Arena. Bring out your inner child on the rollercoasters and splash rides at Gardaland Resort (40 minutes), check out the movie-themed attractions and shows at Movieland Studios (35 minutes), or venture through the shark tunnel at Gardaland SEA LIFE Aquarium (40 minutes).
