Spread over ten hectares of pinewood forest on the Tuscany coast near Grosseto lies handsome and family-friendly Camping La Principina, a kilometre from blue Tuscan waters easily reached via a walking path. Excursions and trips into the region are arranged at reception and bike hire is available for pedals to the beach or around the area. If you'd rather relax at base, the site team arranges activities and entertainment for all ages from mid-June until the end of August; for sorting your own days out, there are two boules courts, a sports field and a beach volleyball court, all open from June. Free shared barbecues are available on site and the site's supermarket sells fresh bread every day. If you'd rather someone else did the cooking, the restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, and the pizzeria serves stonebaked pizzas at dinner time; takeaway service is available on request. The bar serves coffees and drinks from morning to night. Camping La Principina also has toilet blocks with hot water showers (for an extra charge), disabled facilities and washing machines and dryers; sinks for clothes and dish washing, and chemical toilet drains.

Liked: Pro‘s / was auf dem Platz funktioniert: - Wurde direkt von Maps gefunden - Am Empfang wurde bei Ankunft deutsch gesprochen - Sekundengenaue Tacktung bei der Dusche (3 min) - KWh genaue Abrechnung beim Strom - Kostenloses kaltes Wasser für Wassertanks - Ein kleiner Spielplatz (Wippe / eine Schaukel und eine kleine Rutsche) vorhanden - Mülltechnisch ist der Platz sauber - jedoch ist der Müllplatz am Eingang ggf. semi gut untergebracht und der gesamte vordere Bereich ist hiervon „betroffen“ - Schöner und gepflegter Strand

Disliked: Con‘s / was nicht so funktioniert: - Weder angeschriebene Öffnungszeiten (z.B. Bistro) noch Ende Zeiten von Abendevents werden (geht dann mal bis 24 Uhr statt nur bis 23 Uhr) eingehalten - In allen Fällen außer bei der Ankunft war niemand deutschsprachiges an der Rezeption (teils nicht mal Englisch) - Platzangaben von Buchung waren nicht korrekt (8x12m) - und mussten daher anders untergebracht werden mit dem 7,6m Wohnwagen. Hatten dann grob 8x6m bekommen (gleicher Preis) - Angepriesenes Free WLAN war quasi ohne Funktion - Sanitär: Bei fast der Hälfte der Männerduschen waren die Verschlussriegel kaputt oder nicht mehr vorhanden. Die Einrichtungen waren auch selten sauber und rochen ähnlich wie manch eine Unterführung. Bei den Toiletten gab es oft schon keine Klobrillen mehr - oder waren diese halb lose. -> Es gib kein Klopapier und auch keine Halter auf den Toiletten -> In einigen Duschhäußern ist quasi keine Beleuchtung für Toiletten und Dusche vorhanden - Spülbecken waren viele vorhanden, jedoch gibt es nur kaltes Wasser - kein warmes. - Der Weg zum Meer ist länger wie angegeben - mir ist unklar wie man 1,4km in 10 min laufen soll - 20 min sind es gut. Das letzte Stück ist dann jedoch Abends komplett unbeleuchtet. - Campingplatz stark geprägt durch Dauercamper

Liked: Bellissima posizione nella pineta secolare, ombreggiato. Di notte molto tranquillo. Principina è una località piccola che mi piace molto, bella e grande spiaggia in parte naturale perché parte del parco naturale della maremma. Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo.

Disliked: La pulizia dei bagni/docce potrebbero essere migliore, da considerare però che ci sono stata nel periodo di massima affluenza. Manca la piscina

Liked: La piazzola era all'ombra, i bagni puliti.

Disliked: La spiaggia era un po' più lontana del previsto, le biciclette a noleggio nella settimana in cui siamo stati noi non c'erano. Un'area bimbi era completamente al sole tutti il giorno

Liked: Perfetto per chi ha un cane 🐶, molto pulito. Molto cordialità e comodo per la spiaggia, visto che è tutta pedonale nella pineta e possono accedere anche i pelosi nell'area riservata a loro.. Sicuramente da tornare 🥰

Liked: Splendida l’area su cui si sviluppa il campeggio quasi interamente all’ombra dei pini marittimi, le dimensioni delle piazzole, eravamo in tenda con gazebo e piastre ad induzione, essendo cinquantenni e quindi non più giovanissimi il campeggio lo viviamo con tutte le comodità possibili, rimaneva comunque un grande spazio a nostra disposizione ( bisogna comunque comunicare le misure della tenda e/o gazebo per evitare di avere una piazzola small. Lo staff del bar ristorante e market ( grazie Sarà ) sono stati splendidi. Bagni sempre puliti sin dalla mattina presto poi ovviamente sta nei campeggiatori mantenerli tali.

Disliked: Alla nostra età avremmo preferito un programma d’animazione un po’ più vario tant’è che spesso all’ora di cena si preferiva uscire in quanto il volume della musica era parecchio alto e bene o male sempre la stessa ( o per bambini o dance ), quotidianamente uno sgradevole odore di fognature ( non dovuto ovviamente alla direzione del campeggio ma sicuramente da prendere in considerazione ), per il resto ok.

Local attractions

Camping La Principina is in a super setting for those who want to combine a spot of Tuscan relaxing with a spot of Tuscan culture – and all in a scenic pinewood a kilometre from a long and sandy beach. The surroundings are filled with archaeological sites (Vetulonia, Roselle and Populonia), medieval villages (Pitigliano, Magliano and Massa Marittima) and natural parks (Maremma and Val di Cornia). It's also a land of thermal waters – the most famed sites are Saturnia, Sovana and Sorano – and of islands: Giglio, Giannutri and Elba are easily reachable with daily connections from the local ports. Hikers have several paths to traverse in the valleys at the slope of Mount Amiata; Marina di Grosseto is five kilometres away and is connected to the site via a cycling trail. Castiglione della Pescaia and Grosseto are about 11 kilometres away, and Florence and Rome are both within a couple of hours' drive.
