Have a bit of Italy, have a bit of France and have a peacefully rural time here, in the Valle Gesso of the Maritime Alps of north-west Italy. The Piedmont locale of Campeggio Valle Gesso is just outside the small but popular tourist and skiing town of Entracque a few kilometres from the French border and on the edge of the Natural Park of the Maritime Alps. Hiking and mountain biking routes for all ages and abilities start around the site; close by, the natural park is where to go climbing, rafting and horse riding among the lakes, mountain huts and high peaks… or go in search of native ibex, marmots and chamois. Although it's in a peaceful and remote spot, this is a well-equipped and spacious site, with plentiful facilities for all tastes. The central leisure hub is the swimming pool complex, made up of three outdoor pools with waterslide, inflatables, hydro massage seat and a waterfall (and set in spectacular mountain surroundings: see the site pics…). Out of the water, you can kick a ball about on the football pitch or chuck one around on the volleyball courts, play ping pong or billiards, or accompany the kids as they check out the playground. Use the barbecue area to prep dinner with bits and pieces from the mini market, then amble over to the bar for sups as the sun goes down. A footpath and cycle path connect the site to the village centre, less than a kilometre away.

Liked Bellissima la posizione, situato in una posizione che permette di muoversi in qualsiasi direzione sia per chi possiede un mezzo o per le persone che desiderano dedicarsi ad una vacanza più attiva ,come percorsi in bicicletta o sentieri per escursioni. Ottimo campeggio, piazzole molto grandi

Disliked I servizi igienici ed il bar perché una parte di questi sono costruiti dentro strutture di metallo quindi non propriamente accoglienti anche se risultano ambienti abbastanza puliti

Liked Was quiet but that’s all I can say

Disliked Paying for showers, in the middle of nowhere, pool not open even though it had been hot for a while. This sight is for walkers, bikers and in the winter skiers

Liked La piscine est chouette, l'accueil est top et le service également. Une personne passe tout le temps dans le camping et s'assurer que tout ca bien. Les emplacements sont bien serré mais ce n'est pas gênant et l'ambiance du camping est chouette. Les sanitaires sont propres. Nous n'y avons passé qu'une seule nuit mais nous le recommandons.

Disliked Les toilettes turcs, Juste préciser sur le site que les bonnets sont obligatoires pour la piscineet le rappeler au moment du check pourrait être un plus

Liked La posizione è il luogo + la piscina molto grande + e la possibilità di poter ordinare pane e cornetti freschi al market per l’indomani molto comodo + posto molto tranquillo e non rumoroso

Disliked Il mini market poco fornito (vi consiglio di fare spesa prima o in paese a 10 min a piedi + la saletta giochi veramente non funzionante visto lo stato del bigliardo e del calcetto + anche se la struttura ha tutte le comodità sarebbe un po’ da rinnovare + il rapporto qualità prezzo credo sia un po’ elevato visto che comunque è già un po’ vissuto.
Il giorno della partenza la persona che si occupava del check out ci ha passato a 30 cm di distanza e non ci ha degnato di un qualsiasi buon giorno!!! E durante il check out nessuna frase di cortesia + però il signore che andava con lo scooter in giro che ci ha liberato la presa elettrica ci ha ringraziato e augurato un buon rientro monto gentilmente

Disliked Electricity connection from a locked box, so it was necessary to get staff to make connection and then disconnect it in the morning- led to a feeling of not being trusted by management

Local attractions

For its size, local village Entracque is a well-known mountain base for Piedmont summer and winter tourism, popular for outdoor pursuits since the late 19th century. Two alpine ski lifts are in town, along with one of Italy's biggest cross-ski areas. Entracque is part of the Maritime Alps, on the border between Italy's Piedmont and Liguria and the French region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. The Alps have long been a habitat for wolves: to learn more about them and see an eight-hectare area where some live, visit the Uomini e Lupi centre a kilometre away, and the accompanying exhibition centre in Entracque. A tourist office for the area is in the Uomini e Lupi visitor centre. Four kilometres away, the natural amphitheatre of the Valdieri Necropolis is an excavation site made up of late Bronze Age and Iron Age burial grounds. The site today has a replicated Bronze Age hut; nearby, the regional museum displays artefacts and jewellery found on the site, alongside information on the area and its people. The museums and churches of province capital Cuneo are 20 kilometres away.
