With views over the gorgeous green hills all around, Area Camper Piccolo Ranch is a lovely spot for a quiet break in the Marche region.
Come along here and you’ll be parking up on fully serviced touring pitches with access to toilets and showers (including wheelchair-accessible facilities) as well as a chemical disposal point and motorhome service area. Groups, families and those travelling with dogs are all welcome to stay here – there’s a play area for the kids and plenty of options for dog walks nearby.
Getting out to explore the area may involve things like hiking, following nature trails, visiting local wineries or touring traditional villages and towns to see historic sights – Arcevia, with its nine castles, is a good place to start (it’s about 20 minutes’ drive away). The subterranean sights of the Grotte di Frasassi (35 minutes) should certainly be on the schedule too, and perhaps a trip to the beach in Senigallia (40 minutes).
After all of that, you’ll need to cool down and get something to eat – so it’s handy that the site has its own outdoor pool (with kids’ pool) and restaurant (with takeaways for those days when you’d like to settle on your pitch to watch the sunset.
