The shores of popular Lake Como may be only a short way away, but up here in the Lombardy mountains, all is peaceful and quiet. Up a mountain road in the tiny village of Pian del Tivano and surrounded by green pastures and mature woods, Camping Alpe Fuin is just the place for a bit of rural downtime among unspoiled nature. This small family-friendly and dog-friendly site is a particularly excellent spot for those who’d like to explore this area on foot or bikes – several trails run through the surrounding area for hikes up Monte San Primo or in the hills overlooking Lake Como. The site is also handily placed at roughly the halfway point of the Dorsale Lariana trail, a 33km route that takes in some of the finest Alpine scenery around. Mountain biking trails and an adventure park are close by for daredevil days out, and there are caves and karst scenery to explore. The shoreline of Lake Como is about 20 minutes’ drive away too, for watersports, boat trips and simply exploring the colourful villages and historic buildings. The nearest place to rent a boat and see the Orrido di Nesso waterfall is Faggeto Lario, just half an hour's drive away from the site. To make the most of all this, you’ll need to eat well – and you’ll have a couple of choices for meals on site. Either head to the sociable picnic area for self-catering setups or take a table at the site’s restaurant, which serves up a tempting range of local dishes, pizzas and grilled meats alongside well-crafted aperitifs and local wines. Other facilities on site have been equally well thought out – you’ll have access to a playground, a launderette, a chemical disposal point and wifi as well as bathrooms with hot showers available for an additional fee.

Beautiful mountain views and a nature escape. Friendly staff and clean facilities noted, though access roads are narrow. Some noise from parties/cowbells. Showers were pricey and short, needing loonies for hot water. Cash only.

From the manager: Rechazamos decididamente lo afirmado.
Los servicios se limpian y desinfectan 2 veces al día. El 7 de agosto se limpiaron a las 12 y a las 19 horas.
El pago de 50 céntimos por 3,5 minutos de suministro de agua caliente es una decisión para evitar el desperdicio de agua, especialmente en estos periodos de sequía.
Los baños y las duchas fueron completamente remodelados la primavera pasada.
En otras reseñas del mismo periodo, la puntuación de la limpieza es de 8-10/10.
Le hago notar a la señora que el camping en el que decidió pasar una noche está clasificado con 2 estrellas. Si considera más adecuados otros servicios, debería hospedarse en instalaciones de otro nivel.Contestiamo

Liked Place au choix à 1000 m d altitude attention au gros gabarit les routes sont étroites pour y accéder. Bon accueil par la dame qui s'occupe du nettoyage, des explications douches, machine à laver et qui est présente que le soir . N hésitez pas à entrer et vous installer car personne de présent avant 17h30. Une personne viendra vous voir pour encaisser le montant du séjour le soir.

Disliked 2 nuits à 86 euros pour 4 en Van avec électricité la douche payante j' ai trouvé ça un peu dommage (0,50cts)

Disliked La ducha con agua caliente es de pago, el problema es que el sistema no es muy practico, algunas duchas del baño de mujeres no funcionaban.
Hay que tener cuidado con la entrada y salida de las autocarabanas, la nuestra tocaba el tubo de escape en el suelo.

From the manager: La douche dure 3,5 minutes, le bouton à l'intérieur de la douche sert à interrompre le temps disponible, comme indiqué dans les instructions au-dessus du monnayeur. Les toilettes et les douches sont nettoyées régulièrement deux fois par jour. Aucun engin de chantier n'a été utilisé, seulement la tonte hebdomadaire de l'herbe a été effectuée.

Local attractions

You simply have to get out and about to hike or bike around here – whatever your level of ability. There are viewpoints and wildlife areas all around for gentle strolls, wildlife spotting and photography, along with bigger challenges like the climb up Monte San Primo (40 minutes’ drive). It’s a fair uphill challenge, but the view over the lakes from the summit makes an excellent reward. For another way to see the scenery, head to Jungle Raider Park Xtreme (20 minutes’ drive) where you can zipline through the trees or have a go at bungee jumping. If that’s a bit too adventurous, make your way to one of the lakeside villages like Lezzeno (25 minutes) for boat hire or boat trips across Lake Como. Speaking of Lake Como, there are several lovely villages to explore along the waterside, each with its own character. The most famed of all, though, is probably Bellagio (40 minutes) – the ‘Pearl of Lake Como’ is a fabulously pretty place to wander around, with churches like Chiesa San Giacomo and gorgeous gardens like those at Villa Melzi.
