A friendly site on a hill on the eastern fringes of the coastal city of Sanremo (15 minutes’ drive), Erbazul has grassy pitches with far-reaching views over the Ligurian Sea. No word of a lie: those views are nothing short of spectacular. And that’s your eyes satisfied for the duration of your stay. However – and here’s Erbazul’s other unique selling point – your nose will also thank you if you decide to book a holiday here, because the pitches are surrounded by aromatic herbs, including lavender, rosemary and mint. So close your eyes, breathe in the fragrant Mediterranean smells and relax… But back to those sea views: chances are you can’t wait for a dip in those blue waters. How fortunate that the nearest beaches - tiny, sheltered Spiaggia Tre Ponti and larger Bussana – are a mere 10-minute drive away (or within walking distance by a hiking trail). If you’re into trekking, numerous forested trails lace nearby Monte Colma (10 minutes). Dogs are welcome in this peaceful spot within an olive grove; just be sure to keep them under control, especially if you walk them near the beehives. Speaking of which, both the honey and the produce grown on site are available for sale. For anything else you might need, there’s a supermarket a five-minute drive away, plus heaps of options (from independent bakeries and grocers, to restaurants and cafés) in Sanremo.

Route directions

Do not take Via Firenze or other roads. Only use Via Duca D'Aosta Sanremo. When you arrive at number 169, there is a public parking lot. Then, only on foot, follow the small (sloping) road for approximately 45 metres.

Local attractions

If the aromatic herbs on site have whetted your appetite for all things fragrant, you’re in luck: Sanremo (known as the ‘city of flowers’ for its cultivation of carnations and roses) is dotted with beautiful gardens and colourful flowerbeds. Check out the onion domes of the Russian Orthodox Church, or hire a bike to wheel along the palm tree-lined cycle lane skirting the seafront. Largely destroyed by an earthquake in the 1880s (and subsequently abandoned), the hilltop village of Bussana Vecchia (15 minutes’ drive) is now populated by artists who restored the derelict properties (using mostly recycled materials from the original buildings), turning them into workshops. The coastal city of Imperia (35 minutes) is known for Villa Grock, the former home of a famed Swiss clown and entertainer from the early 20th century. Admire the elegant Art Nouveau architecture, wander through the leafy gardens with ponds and fountains, then check out the Clown Museum to learn more about the villa’s eccentric owner.

Liked: Avoid this place hard to access .only can walk down steep stairs.surounding looks like shambles old greenhouses pretend to be camping. Shocking !!!! .stay away frome this place same time another couple turn up and they not stay at this place. Very disappointed

Liked: Didn’t like anything! We had an accident - host declared this wasn’t the campsite. He then left us. When we discovered it was and walked up to it he was only interested in whether we were going to pitch our tent. We asked to buy a drink and something to eat as we’d been out in the sun for 3 hours and he said he had nothing. Some
other campers gave us some drink, peaches and a cake which made me cry. I was so stressed and this man did not care one iota! Think twice before you book to stay here!!!

Disliked: The walkway up to the property was unsafe and the ‘handrail’ had become detached. The owner couldn’t care less other than if we were pitching our tent. Absolutely appalling!

Liked: Incredible, beautiful, scenic location. Chilled out owner (Ste) and laid back atmosphere, very relaxing. Basic but good facilities.

Liked: Vue splendid sur mere avec l'odeur de lavende Dans l'air. Un sourire accueillant du proprietaire et tout est ce qu'il faut pour se distraire. Avec ou sans partenaire, on ne se sent jamais seul Dans ce Paradis Balnéaire 💙🌊🍇
PS: Nous n'avons jamais goûté des raisins aussi Délicieux que ceux d'ErbAzul !!!
