Wild nature meets fabulous comfort at Soste in Quota Glamping, in a scenic rural Abruzzo location about a mile from the medieval village of Pennapiedimonte.
Stunning scenery is guaranteed here in the Majella National Park, whether you choose to head out for active adventures (hiking, mountain biking, Nordic walking and other outdoor activities are all popular nearby) or simply put your feet up on site and enjoy the views.
You can even enjoy those views while tucked up in your cosy bed if you like, as the accommodation at this adults-only site is in geodesic domes with a large transparent window for sweeping views of the surroundings by day and the chance to check out the starry skies in comfort by night. Alternatively, you could take yourselves over to the wood-fired hot tub to bubble away while looking out at the mountains.
That hot tub is just one of the experiences you can book to add an extra dimension to your break. Breakfast is already included, but you can also request sunset aperitifs with local snacks, creative activities or guided tours that introduce you to local villages, crafts, foods and traditions.
Whatever you choose to fill your days with, you’ll be coming back to a comfortable and cosy dome with a proper bed and an ensuite bathroom (bed linen and towels provided), plus heating to make sure you can keep warm on cooler evenings.

Local attractions
You may be tempted to spend much of your time here just hanging out in and around your dome, but it’s really worth getting out to see more of your Majella National Park surroundings. You can start very close by too – there are hiking trails from the village, and Parco Naturale Majella - Vertical Park (five minutes’ drive) has mountain bike trails, a via ferrata climbing route and a treetop adventure park.
A little further away, you may like to walk through the nature reserve at Gole di San Martino (half an hour), see the Cascata del Macellaro waterfalls (half an hour) or walk through the forest at Piana Delle Mele (15 minutes). Abruzzo Adventures (45 minutes) offers rafting and tubing activities, or there are gentler days out at Museo del costume e della tradizione della nostra gente (15 minutes) or sipping wine at Azienda Tilli (20 minutes).
