Surrounded by spectacular countryside, Camping Seeburger See is a scenic spot on the outskirts of the Lower Saxony village of Seeburg (10 minutes’ walk). That’s the eastern outskirts, which means that Seeburger Lake and your morning swim are only a five-minute walk away, as are pedal boats and fishing spots (licences can be arranged at reception). Not into water-based activities? No problem: the site is next door to a tennis club with clay courts. A playground with a pirate ship is also nearby (handy if the kids need to burn a little excess energy), while a shaded miniature golf course is less than half a kilometre away. You’re also within 25 minutes of two large nature reserves here: Harz National Park (20 minutes’ drive) has forested trails, including some leading up Brocken mountain, and Naturpark Münden (25 minutes) has family-friendly cycle routes along the banks of the Weser river, where you might also catch glimpses of kingfishers (the park’s forest areas are also home to woodpeckers and birds of prey). The Göttingen Forest (25 minutes) comes alive in the spring with carpets of daffodils and wild garlic. Breakfast is a cinch with the morning bakery service (be sure to book in advance, though), and you don’t need to worry about other meals, either, as the restaurant serves schnitzels, burgers and salads, which you can devour indoors or on the shaded terrace. A shop sells basic foodstuff and other necessities. In addition to a fully equipped toilet/shower block, there’s also a launderette and a hairdresser.

Liked Der Campingplatz selbst war OK.

Disliked Der Holländische Platzwart hat mich nicht auf den Campingplatz gelassen weil mein Wohnmobil (Morelo 8,50 m) zu groß war, und die Rasenstellplätze zu weich waren. Es waren viele Plätze frei, einige waren wirklich richtig weich, aber ich habe mir 3 Plätze ausgesucht die fest waren, aber davon wollte er mir keinen geben. ?? Er wurde immer nervöser, bis er dann sagte ich solle mir einen anderen Campingplatz suchen. Das habe ich dann auch getan! (Nie wieder Seeburger See Camping)

Liked Die Betreiber sind superfreundlich und immer greifbar.
Schön, dass der Platz schon am 27.3.26 öffnete. So konnten wir noch vor dem "Oster-Run" die Ruhe genießen.
Die sanitären Anlagen sind modern und immer sauber.

Local attractions

Just outside Teistungen (15 minutes’ drive), the Grenzlandmuseum Eichsfeld occupies a former border crossing between West and East Germany. The permanent exhibition explores life in East Germany during the Cold War years and the opening of the border in 1989, with audio-visual testimonies of local residents. Göttingen (25 minutes) spreads around a central square dominated by the Gänseliesel fountain, featuring a geese-carrying girl within an elaborately floral bronze frame. Established in the 18th century, the Old Botanical Garden of Göttingen University has a large pond and several greenhouses displaying cacti, succulents and ferns, among other plants. The Alternativer Bärenpark Worbis (half an hour) is an animal park with spacious outdoor enclosures that replicate the natural habitat of bears, wolves and lynx. The resident bears, which come from circuses and other captive situations, are free to forage, roam and interact as they would in the wild.
