Hilltop villages, expansive fields of lavender and farmers’ markets selling locally grown, sun-drenched vegetables. The Provençal lifestyle has such a romantic ring to it, doesn’t it? If you’re up for your own slice of Provence, head to Roiselet at Sarrians, 35 minutes’ drive from Avignon and in the centre of the Vacqueyras appellation vineyards. This leafy site has views right to Mont Ventoux on clear days, and is set on an educational farm run by five generations of the same family, who host seasonal activities and sell home-grown certified organic produce. You’re welcome to explore the heritage orchard and vegetable gardens, feed the animals in the barnyard and wander through century-old vineyards. Depending on the season, you can handle ducklings and chicks – and do be on the lookout for the peacocks strutting about the place too. Keep older kids happy in the games room and on BMX tracks leading around the farm, and there’s a play area for toddlers too. You can use the shaded picnic spots scattered around the site, and feast on homemade juices, sorbets, jams and seasonal fruit and veg – not to mention Roiselet’s own Vacqueyras Grand Cru wines – in the café.

Local attractions

Family days out from Roiselet can include time at Spirou Amusement Park (15 minutes’ drive), where there’s a mix of adrenaline-inducing rollercoasters and gentle rides themed around the Belgian comic character. If the kids are demanding more entertainment, Piratland (40 minutes) has waterslides, a mini-train ride and pirate-themed carousels. Mountain biking and hiking fans can head for the steep slopes of Mont Ventoux (50 minutes), notorious as a section of the Tour de France. However you reach the top (there’s a switchback road to drive if you’re cheating), you’ll be rewarded with views over the Rhône Valley to the Alps. At the foot of Ventoux is captivating Carpentras (15 minutes), home of the Gothic masterpiece that is Saint Siffrein Cathedral and the Italianate Palais de Justice as well as a lively produce market on Friday (look out for white truffles in summer). Going further back in time, you can tour ancient Roman temple remains at Vaison-la-Romaine (25 minutes) and hit up the Tuesday market, one of the largest in Provence.

Admission

All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.

General

Bookings are nominative and non-transferable.

Safety

Firearms are not permitted.
Fires, barbecues and/or firepits will not be permitted in dry, windy and/or hot weather conditions.
Guests are advised to bring a good quality flashlight with them as parts of the park are unlit.

Reception

If reception is closed on arrival: please contact the number provided on your booking confirmation.

General

In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
