Between a French village and the sea, and set on the Opal Coast of northern France – what un bon locale for Les Jardins de la Mer.
The village, Merlimont-Plage (it even has 'beach' in its name) is a family-friendly seaside resort where you can try land and water activities from sand yachting and kite flying to surfing or dune hiking. And quite a bit occurs on site too, as the team organises entertainment and activities for guests during high season.
Jardins de la Mer also has a heated outdoor pool (open in July and August), table tennis, a pétanque court and a playground. And if you want to keep your energy levels up? Get busy in the fitness room.

Local attractions
Les Jardins de la Mer is about a kilometre and a half from the nearest beach and it's a short drive to more of the same at Le Touquet Paris Plage and Berck-sur-Mer. Yet more of the same? The Côte d'Opale has around 120 kilometres of glittering sands, dunes, beaches and cliffs.
Back at base, make for the Bagatelle theme park and aqua park of local seaside resort Merlimont if you're around with the kids; another waterpark, Aqualud, is at Le Touquet-Paris-Plage.
