It's free, quick and easy!
- Riverside site with beach area for fishing and swimming
- 2km from Villefranche-de-Conflent and the Little Yellow Train
- Pool, paddling pool, snack bar, miniature golf and playground
Take yourself to the Têt for a first-rate family holiday, within a couple of kilometres of the excellently extensive caves of Les Grottes de Canalettes, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Fort Libéria, and chuffing along on the splendidly scenic Little Yellow Train to Latour de Carol, via France’s highest railway station at Bolquère Eyne (a train trip that's an absolute must for all ages).
And you'll be in a riverside setting with beach and fishing too. Camping Mas de Lastourg is on the banks of the Têt in the eastern Pyrenees, with a beach area close by for swimming and angling. It's a couple of kilometres from Villefranche-de-Conflent, the starting point for the Yellow Train, and is among the gorges, lakes and caves of the Catalan Pyrenees Regional Natural Park.
Among the options to entertain on site are a pool and a paddling pool, table tennis, miniature golf, a playground, a pétanque court and a multisports area set up for football, volleyball or badminton. Strolling and cycling trails are plentiful in the 20 hectares of meadow surrounding the site.
Camping Mas de Lastourg also has a snack bar, serving a wide variety of food to eat in or take away.

Local attractions
Speed along to the local town of Villefranche-de-Conflent first to catch the Little Yellow Train, running since 1909 on its route through the Pyrenees.
The line puffs from Villefranche up the sides of the Têt valley among spectacular mountain scenery and old villages, to end up at Latour de Carol near the Spanish town of Puigcerda. (You can get off a few kilometres earlier at the frontier town of Bourg Madame, a few hundred metres from the Spanish border and within walking distance of Puigcerda.)
After all this excitement, make your way underground back at base, at the vast caverns, lakes and canals of Les Grottes de Canalettes. Or snap a pic of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Fort Libéria in Villefranche, built for Louis XIV and at one point used as a prison for his poisoners.
Other excellent options in the region are the Casteil safari and animal park (seven kilometres), Saint Martin du Canigou Abbey (10 kilometres), and horse and pony riding trips from Matemale (20 kilometres). Canyoning, rafting and tubing can be arranged from Marquixanes, 20 kilometres away.
