Many people heading to this part of France seek a poolside getaway, but this watery wonder is particularly apt for aquatic adventure, with lifeguarded indoor and outdoor pools, a waterslide and paddling pool à votre service. On top of this, guests have easy access to several kilometres of Mediterranean beach (under a minute's walk from the site entrance) and the Étang de Canet, a tranquil wildlife haven with mountain views, which is adjacent to the park. Things never get too sleepy around here, though, as there's evening entertainment throughout the high season to keep guests entertained.
The other facilities are top notch too: the site has a beauty salon (ooh la la), gym, bar and restaurant to name but a few. If you feel like cooking for yourself, barbecues are allowed: a handy on-site shop makes it easy to grab essentials, and a large supermarket is only a five-minute drive away in Canet en Roussillon. For those looking to set out and explore the local terrain on two wheels, bikes are available to hire on site. And wherever you and your tribe go traipsing about, a laundry room is on hand to get your gear squeaky clean afterwards.

Local attractions
Canet's sandy beach is home to shops, seafood restaurants and bars. Other fab seaside spots in the surrounding area cater for almost all tastes – there's a grand casino and windsurfing opportunities at Argelès-sur-Mer (20 minutes' drive), Collioure with its waterfront château (30 minutes) and the comely cove at Banyuls-sur-Mer (30 minutes). Argelès is also a hub for kid-pleasing times, as it's home to a theme park, a waterpark and a tropical-themed miniature golf course.
Perpignan (20 minutes' drive) is a must-see too. Visitors who take a stroll around the old town will note the cultural and historic connection to Catalonia; with Barcelona more than four times closer than Paris, it makes sense geographically too. Start by making tracks for the Hyacinthe Rigaud Gallery, or head to the medieval citadel and gorgeous cathedral; a handy tourist office is on hand to provide newcomers with further inspiration.
Thrill-seeking guests can drive across the border to Roses (one hour and 20 minutes), where aeroplane tours provide spectacular views over land and sea.
