Give Camping Paris Est a go to save more euros for souvenirs and eats: it's only 20 minutes from the capital, and between the city and heady days out among Mickey and co at Disneyland Paris 40 minutes away. Set on the banks of the Marne river in the Paris outskirts, Paris Est is a family-friendly site (but of course), with facilities on hand for those times when you're not sightseeing or rollercoastering: there's a bar and bistro with a spacious terrace and a playground where the kids can go loopy in between trips to see Mickey et al at Disneyland Paris. Liked La ragazza alla reception gentilissima, eravamo in due caravan con due piazzole lontane e si è adoperata per sistemarci il più vicino possibile, non conosco il suo nome ma merita davvero, penso sia la stessa che abbiamo trovato l'anno scorso.. complimenti per lo staff....pure le docce meritano pulite e profumate ....buono anche x arrivare in centro velocemente e bellissima la zona sulla marna

Pros: Extraordinary location, very close to Paris with good connections for all the city, the bus stop is right at the entrance into the site. On a sidle there is a river with benches and viewing places, so you can get your morning coffee with you to have what they say "coffee with a view". Also, you can fish there of you get the licence.
Huge camping site, with very large serviced pitches, very clean outside, like a beautiful park. There are some playgrounds for small children, to keep them busy. It seems safe and nice place.
The restaurant (only) that serves the camping site has decent prices.

Disliked Cons: the toilettes and showers are bad. The cubicles are too small, at least for showers and they have timed water taps, which is very inconvenient for showering.
The dishwashing area has no lights so you need to have a flashlight with you in case you want to wash your dishes after the sunset. Quite dirty area, but this is the visitors' fault, mainly.

Paris is a paltry 20 minutes away by public transport (a bus stops right outside the site) and is crammed with world-famed sights and attractions that'll likely have you booking to come again before you've even said au revoir. Particularly recommended among the many by the Camping Paris Est team is the Louvre, the gallery housing the mega-famed Mona Lisa among its 35,000 or so objets d'art from prehistoric times to the present day.
