Pitches

  • Well-equipped site amid Normandy lakes and rivers
  • Under 10 minutes' drive to the beach at Quiberville-sur-Mer
  • Fishing ponds on site to land sturgeon and perch
Two rivers for the price of one. Normandy's Saâne and Vienne rivers encircle the peaceful site of Camping de la Vallée as they wind their way seawards: think salty breezes, big skies and a landscape where country and coast merge… Gentler pursuits on site include pétanque and table football, as well as a play area for smaller guests and a games room for older ones to lurk in. Or you could send the offspring off to go and catch dinner: there are half a dozen ponds around the site, a draw for wildlife and for anglers after sturgeon and perch. You can order takeaway to be delivered from a local pizzeria (no delivery charge) or buy groceries to make meals to eat at the many lakeside picnic tables (burn it off later on the basketball courts or in the fitness area). On the practical side, your stay is made easier by an on-site laundry and a washroom with baths and showers. You can bring your dog and that 'Boss of the Barbecue' apron you got for Christmas, as both are welcome (barbecues, more than novelty aprons…).

What customers say

Lovely, quiet site by a big lake, great for fishing & dog walks. Spacious pitches, many with lake views. Staff are friendly. Facilities mostly clean but a bit dated. Expect some noise & shower tokens needed. Handy for Dieppe ferry.

I would definitely stay here again.

Liked Lovely location
Friendly owners

Disliked Owners dog off lead with no recall upsetting our and other owners dogs that were on a lead.
Left early due to constant noise from neighbouring pitch to 05.00 in the morning and their dog off lead all the time so had to keep our dog inside.
Tree overhanging on main track to the lakeside pitches that will damage caravans and motor homes.

From the manager: Hello,

We would like to remind all dog owners that they are required to pick up after their pets throughout the campsite.

The fishing park is maintained very regularly and is normally mowed every week. It is therefore quite rare to find dog waste there. I sincerely regret that you found a dog mess on your pitch. In such situations, please do not hesitate to contact us immediately so that we can address the issue promptly.

Regarding dogs in the fishing park, they are allowed in this area. It provides a space, particularly for larger dogs, to exercise and run freely, which contributes to their well-being. Completely prohibiting this would not, in our view, be consistent with the natural needs of the animals.

Of course, dogs that are allowed off-lead must remain under their owners' control at all times, must not behave aggressively towards other dogs or people, and must respect the peace and comfort of all guests. This is certainly the case with the campsite's dog, who has never shown any behavioural problems. At the moment, she spends her time chasing dragonflies and enjoys greeting other dogs and people.

We remain at your disposal should you have any questions or concerns.

Kind regards,

Management

Local attractions

The beach at Quiberville-sur-Mer is your nearest (10 minutes by car) for dipping, lounging and digging big holes. The larger town of Veules-les-Roses (15 minutes) has beetling cliffs and a pebble shore that once drew painters by the cartload. Veules-les-Roses is also a good place to try your hand at windsurfing and sea-kayaking. Fécamp (50 minutes) is the starting point for the Route du Lin (Linen Route) cycle path, taking in history and some of Normandy's finest scenery over an 80-kilometre route, and is also home to Woody Park and its tree climbing and bungee jumping. Hautot-sur-Mer (10 minutes) is one of many local centres for equestrian activities, including guided horseback trails. For a busy port, Dieppe (20 minutes) is remarkably easy on the eye; Saturday markets will thrill/horrify some visitors with buckets of live snails and recognisable bits of boar. On the cliffs above in the Château Musée you can see how Renoir, Pissarro and Sickert painted the town red (and other colours).
