Camping de la Touche is an former farm complex in the south region of the Loire Valley, a small, friendly site over four hectares with a small river and many mature trees. Its peaceful setting on a well-preserved ancient farm is well placed for birdwatching, fishing or just basking in the sun. The farm is well placed too for sightseeing and as a stopoff on your journey south to recharge your batteries. The team can arrange your pet passport stamp if required. Amenities include a prep room with washing machine and dryer, a chest freezer and washing-up facilities. There's also a mini library and a barbecue area. Toilets facilities are separate for ladies and gents and the hot showers are free. The owners of this site are British, but a little French is spoken at the site.

Liked Excellent site, best bathrooms of any camp site. Large pitches with no silly restrictions. Food is basic but very good. Continually improving site and facilities. Excellent hosts

Liked Kindness of hosts, sorting drinks and a bacon roll for me despite being ‘out of hours’; camping by motorcycle imposes strict limitations on what you can bring!
Lovely, quiet, well kept and well appointed site, with all necessary and clean facilities.

Liked A lovely peaceful small campsite in a beautiful setting. The facilities were modern and exceptional clean and the bar in the evening was a lovely place to enjoy a meal, plus the swimming pool was an added bonus. The site is well kept with lots of shady tree areas with no defined pitches which makes it feel more informal.
Fiona and Andrew are great hosts, made us feel very welcome from when we arrived. This site is now added to our favourite list!

Ask the Camping de la Touche owners for details of local rambles, hikes and bike rides in the peaceful countryside surrounding the site, or further afield at Loire Valley vineyards or châteaux (spoiler alert: there are quite a few of each). A top pick for a Loire Valley château is Château de Chenonceau, 45 minutes' drive from the site, one of France's designated 'remarkable gardens' and one of the few Loire castles you can pootle around without a guide.
