- Private Cundinamarca ecopark with stunning Peña de Juaica views
- Direct access to mountain hiking; 15 minutes’ drive from Tenjo
- Off-grid pitches with a restaurant and native plants in the gardens
If you’re after stunning views, you’ll certainly get them at Bauhaus de la Montaña, a private ecopark tucked into native forest 15 minutes’ drive from the hill town of Tenjo in Cundinamarca. Wherever you go on this leafy site, views take in the distinctive peak of Peña de Juaica and its tree-covered surrounding foothills.
In keeping with its spectacular environs and gardens full of colourful endemic plants, this is a back-to-nature sort of a place, and the grass pitches are all off grid. However, the site does have visitor security, a wifi service, reliable showers, a communal firepit and a covered restaurant with a terrace for alfresco dining. There is also occasional entertainment in the evening.
There are a couple of communal chill-out zones among the trees, and you can follow several hiking trails (suitable for all levels of ability) deep into the forest from the pitches.
