  • Well-maintained peaceful rural site 10 minutes' drive from Pembroke
  • Within four miles of Barafundle Bay, Bosherston and Freshwater West
  • Distant sea views and simple facilities; campfires welcome
There are some mighty fine spots around Pembrokeshire – and it has to be said that the folk at Cedar Farm Camping have managed to bag themselves one of those prime positions, within easy reach of some of the county’s most splendid coastal scenery. Getting to this peaceful and pretty part of the world involves driving about 10 minutes from Pembroke, leaving the main roads behind and making your way down some quiet country lanes to find a place that’s all about the rural relaxation (don’t worry if you’re not used to country lanes – they’re perfectly easy to navigate, and staff are always on hand to offer guidance if you get lost among all the greenery…) The rural views from this spot on the edge of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park are generally pure green, but on a clear day you’ll catch glimpses of the sea in the distance. Whether you’ve been treated to that or not, you’ll certainly want to set out to see the sea more closely – and what spectacular beaches you have to choose from, as Freshwater West, Broad Haven South and the utterly gorgeous Barafundle Bay are all within four miles or so. Given the stunning surrounds, you’ll likely be out and about most of the time – and with that in mind the owners have focused on providing a restful place to chill out rather than stacking up lots of unnecessary bits and bobs. That means simply sorting you out with toilets, showers, a water supply and a waste disposal area, and allowing you to spend evenings stoking a barbecue or campfire.

What customers say

A welcoming, tidy site with a chill vibe, loved for its roomy spots, cleanliness, and pretty country scenery. Families enjoy the secure kids' play zones, and the barn bar is a hit. Facilities are usually great & clean, though some saw queues & low hot water at busy periods. Great spot for exploring local beaches & sights.

Liked Area was close where we wanted to visit .

Disliked One drinking tap water for loads of customers not very good when park next to other people staying next to it.

Showers in ladies dark n lights went off while showing.

From the manager: Sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy your stay, 3/10 is very disappointing for us. To clarify, there are five water taps; one by the barn, one half way up the electric area, one on the water shed located at the end of the electric area, another by pitch number 2 and the one outside the shower block. All taps have a drinking water sign clearly marked on them.

We’re assuming the area that you wanted to see was Castlemartin Range? There are unfortunately times where this area closes due to MOD live firing, something we are unable to control. We would advise all future campers to look at one of the many sources of information concerning opening times, such as the Pembrokeshire County Council website and National Park website also.

Liked The barn bar was great and had a relaxed feel. We was in there every night apart from 1 night.

Disliked Not disliked but the barn didn't open on 1 night when we planned to have a pizza, no sign to say closed and nothing on Web page either.
Also could do with a bigger bin in ladies toilets as most of time was over flowing but not major issue.

From the manager: While we do appreciate that better communication about the barns closure that evening should have been carried out, we feel 1/10 to be very harsh. As you would have seen on the other nights you spent in the barn during your stay, we work hard to make sure our campers are happy and enjoy a relaxing stay. Furthermore we would like to address any future campers who may read this review to decide for themselves whether the comments here truly reflect as terrible a stay as a 1/10 rating infers. The majority of our campers enjoy our site and appreciate how hard we work to deliver the best stay we can for each and every camper ☺️

Loved every minute of our holiday.

Liked Amazing campsite.🏕️ All members of staff were very friendly and welcoming. The pitches were large and had a fire pit available to use. Really good idea having a bar and board games in barn. Toilets and showers were spotless. Great location, close to beautiful beaches and the night sky was breathtaking. Definitely good and safe place for children to play and make friends and memories.

Disliked Could do with additional toilets during busy periods and a bin in washing up area.

Liked Absolutely loved the campsite. It's clean and we'll maintained. There's a mini play area for the kids where they can run free all day. The onsite bar is really well located and does some really nice food.
The toilets and showers are cleaned daily and I love the writing on the walls which gives you ideas and information.

Disliked Pot wash area is small but adequate, I think a bin would be nice for food scraps.
Maybe another toilet block for busy times. I found we struggled to get the toilet or use a shower with hot water.

Local attractions

Up for a stroll? It’s a good plan as you can set out on paths very close by to explore the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and wend your way down to the coast itself to see the famed Green Bridge. Down at the coast path you could amble between some of the choice spots along the coast, or choose to settle at one or other. Barafundle Bay (10 minutes’ drive) is the big name around here for its frequent appearances on ‘world’s best beach’ lists, but you should also add in a trip to Broad Haven South, walking down past the huge lily ponds at Bosherston (five minutes) along the way. You may well find the surf waves and beach café at Freshwater West (15 minutes) calling your name too… As well as coast, all trips to these parts should include at least one castle – Pembroke (10 minutes) and lakeside Carew (15 minutes) are your top spots nearby. If you’re here with the nippers, drag them further back in time at the Dinosaur Park (20 minutes).
