  • Small site in Pembrokeshire, less than a mile from Solva harbour
  • A 15-minute walk from a pebbled cove and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path
  • Sea views over countryside from the pitches
Wherever you’re travelling from, it's highly recommended that you arrive at Llanungar Caravan Park and Camping while it’s still light. The reason? Those sunsets. Take a quick browse of the pictures and you’ll see that evenings in this part of west Wales are frequently ridiculously photogenic… But it’s not just the sunsets that are snapworthy around here – Llanungar is a 15-minute walk from a pebbled cove and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, where you can spend your days rambling for miles between clifftops, enormous beaches, volcanic headlands and quiet coves. If that sounds like too much effort, you’ll be pleased to hear that there are sea views to be had on site, with the added bonus of uninterrupted countryside as a foreground. Walk down into the village of Solva (less than a mile) and it may well be time to get the camera out again, for here you’ll come across one of the prettiest harbours in Wales. This is also likely to be your go-to place for local amenities – it’s got a convenience store, several small shops and a handful of cafés and restaurants (speak nicely to the right people and you can have fresh seafood and shellfish to take back to your pitch).

Liked Good clean campsite. Great spot for hikes etc and to visit the blue laggon, 15 min drive away. Great local shop 10 mins walk away with a really good stock. The pizza van next to the shop was amazing, one of the best weve had, well worth a visit.

Local attractions

There are natural attractions galore in this part of Pembrokeshire, to be explored at paces ranging from laidback to adrenaline-fuelled. The small cove of Porth y Rhaw is 15 minutes away on foot and pebbly Gwadn beach a few minutes’ by car from the site. For something on a grander scale, head five miles east to Newgale or west to Whitesands Bay, for swathes of sandy beach and some of the best surfing in Wales. Pembrokeshire is the home of coasteering, a mix of walking, wild swimming, cliff jumping and climbing for the headily adventurous: organise these trips, along with sea kayaking, climbing, paddleboarding and surf lessons two miles away in St Davids. Less than a mile from Llanungar is the little fishing village of Solva, whose harbour has grown around a natural coastal inlet. Rows of colourful houses, shops and restaurants lead to it, where you can sit in a café and watch the boats going about their business. At high tide, there’s crabbing to be done here too, but if you’ve not caught enough for dinner you can buy fresh seafood from the village shop.
