Set on four acres of quiet countryside 10 minutes’ drive from Pembroke in South Wales, The Speculation Inn Campsite comes with a big bonus: a 200-year-old pub on site… because let’s be honest, camping is better when there’s a guaranteed pint at the end of the day. The Speculation Inn has been busy welcoming travellers for over two centuries, and now it welcomes tents, campervans, motorhomes, and anyone who enjoys fresh air followed by food, drink and a warm glow of smug contentment. With spacious pitches and a relaxed vibe, this is camping done properly – rural but comfortable… and slightly indulgent thanks to the historic pub a short stroll away. The owners have installed a modern and clean (no ‘rustic surprises’ here) shower block with separate facilities for men and women and washing-up sinks outside. There’s a small charge for showers, but there’s plenty of hot water to go round. You can get ultra-fast wifi across the entire property, so yes, you can stream, video call or pretend you’re working while actually looking at your favourite Insta sites. Dogs are welcome too, and you can exercise them on several outstanding Welsh beaches within 15 minutes’ drive of the pitches.

Liked The staff were great and very helpful, Martin in particular, and Tom your pizza was great ! Richard was great fun (Less talking and more walking ie stay off the mower heehee)!!!The inn itself is a little gem and needs to be kept going .

Disliked The staff would be the first to admit the toilet block is way off the mark !( Lads you need a woman's touch )!
Location was OK for us we don't mind a walk but local bus services are rare so you need transport of sorts. Again not a problem for us but the WiFi was AWOL while we were there so top up your data if you can't do without

Liked Great site hard stands are nice and level.
Field looks well cared for and large so plenty of room for campers and vans.
Also clubhouse is a great addition with games and a bar and plenty of comfy seating for socialising with campers.

Disliked Dish washing water was cold but adequate.
And toilets could do with a freshen up.
But it’s a new venture for the guys will sure get to it in time.

Liked A well maintained site with good quality hard standing EHU pitches located close to the clean toilet/shower block. The Speculation Inn is now a clubhouse that serves a good selection of alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks as well as serving a nice selection of wood fire cooked pizzas. The staff are friendly and welcoming ensuring that we got the most out of both the site and clubhouse. Highly recommended and we will return.

Liked The staff were very helpful and friendly it was very clean it was a very peaceful site

Disliked The food menu needs to be more varied it was pizza every day it would of been nice to have a selection of rolls and sandwiches and also the Wi-Fi didn't work6

Liked Quite site lovely area made to feel welcomed by the owners

Disliked WiFi didn't work did mention it to the owners but nothing worked lady's toilets need to be cleaned more regularly no dog waste bin provided no individual water supply to pitches and better lighting on the site would be an improvement.

Liked The pitches were good the lawn around the pub and lights were good but that’s where it ends

Disliked Toilets were not clean only one shower the pub only do pizzas they seem to open when they feel like it and has it’s very isolated from any shops or other pubs not good

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Staff members at the pub/ site were so helpful, really genuinely nice people. The pub was cozy, clean and reasonably priced. Facilities onsite had hot running water for showers, not over crowded, super chill vibes. Will 100% be returning. Thank you.

Several beaches with different vibes are nearby; the sweep of sand at Freshwater West (10 minutes’ drive) is the one for surfing and rock pooling, and don’t miss the stone cairn at Dobby’s Grave. The inlet at West Angle Bay is sheltered, and Broad Haven South is known for stunning sunsets. You have a cliff path to negotiate down to gorgeous Barafundle Bay (all three are 15 minutes away by car) but it’s worth the effort for the calm sea, safe for novice swimming. Kids needing more entertainment? Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (25 minutes) is a fun-filled day out, with animal encounters and fairground rides (and indoor fun if the weather turns on you). Likewise, Heatherton World of Activities (20 minutes) is packed with family activities like paintballing, archery and mini golf to keep everyone having fun. If you can, sneak in a bit of culture. As featured in ‘His Dark Materials’, St Govan’s Chapel (15 minutes) is a minuscule hermit’s cave tucked into the cliffside. You can have a bit of a potter around Stackpole Walled Gardens (10 minutes), where kids will enjoy finding the Gaudí-style crocodile sculptures, and at National Trust - Stackpole (15 minutes), you can all search for the mysterious wickerwork figures hidden in woodland glades.
