  • Dog-friendly rural escape in the Carmarthenshire hills near Llandybïe
  • Carreg Cennen Castle or Carmarthen 20 minutes' drive
  • Five minutes' drive from a pub, takeaways, a café and a station
Simply put, The Swallows is a place where you can find restful breaks in the Carmarthenshire hills. This small, dog-friendly site is a haven of peace in a very rural environment, with greenery all around. Buzzards, red kites and wildflowers are all part of the scenery in this pretty part of Wales, and there's also a stream on site for more nature spotting or a bit of wild paddling. This adults-only site is a peaceful spot where you won't have to worry about your well-earned rest being disturbed by kids, but it also makes a great base for breaks on the active side given the local area's fab range of attractions and activities, with everything from beaches to castles and botanical gardens. This site is about a mile from the tiny village of Caerbryn and five minutes' drive from slightly larger Llandybïe, where there is a pub, takeaways, a café and a station. Bigger again is Llandeilo, 15 minutes away, which has a fab range of places to shop and eat. There are also several large supermarkets within 10 minutes' drive for all your provisions.
