What customers say

Peaceful riverside spot, friendly hosts, cozy cabin with good amenities. Convenient location. However, some found limited cooking gear. Cabin cleanliness and maintenance issues (cobwebs, stains, broken items) were noted, as was challenging access.

2 bedroom cabin

Liked The location, when you get there, is a lovely riverside spot with access to footpaths.
Quiet and safe for kids and dogs.
Fire pit and while out in the countryside, not too far from a supermarket, pub and the seaside.
Wifi worked well.
The cabin is secure and warm, with lots of hot water. Beds were comfy. Suitable furniture for chilling and eating, whether with family or friends.

Disliked Getting to the location is very random and unpleasant, with a lot of buildings with multiple uses that appear disused and abandoned and full of furniture, rubbish piled up, etc., very unpleasant and unnerving.
The cabin is basic with only a microwave and no suitable sharp knives/tongs, etc. A hot plate would work wonders, and a couple of pans, as we had to make do with a BBQ and a Forman grill, which has its limitations.

Liked The location is serene and picturesque. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. If you're seeking a wonderful getaway with friends and family in a charming cabin, this is the place to go.

Local attractions

Afan Forest Park (half an hour’s drive) is well-known for its challenging mountain-biking routes and hill walking in lake, valley and forest landscapes. Graded ‘extreme’, Afan Bike Park (20 minutes) has bike trails best left to the experts, although there is a gentler skills area for less-experienced cycle riders close to Afan Visitor Centre (half an hour). Families will also find much to do at Margam Country Park (10 minutes), where you can set out on trails looking for the Margam deer herd and wildlife including hares and grey squirrels. Hire a pedal boat and explore the lake, try coarse fishing or take the treetop challenge at Go Ape Margam. If you fancy a break from all that activity, grab a beach towel and head off to sandy Aberavon Beach (15 minutes), where kids can have fun at Aberavon Aqua Splash and stroll along the seafront promenade to see the colourful Whale sculpture overlooking the sand. You could also combine a lazy day on expansive Skwer Beach with a ramble through the undulating sand dunes in Kenfig Nature Reserve (both 15 minutes).
