  • Comfy bell tents behind a Rhosgoch pub with meals and local drinks
  • Lligwy and Church Bay beaches 20 minutes' drive away
  • Beds and electric 'woodburner'; breakfast included in the price
Staying behind a pub is a handy thing indeed, giving you easy access to meals and drinks without any need to concern yourselves with the drive home… and things get even more convenient at The Ring Pub Glamping Pods, where you’ll be staying in a bell tent that’s all set up and ready for you to move into. Each tent here has beds made up for guests’ arrival and is kitted out with lots of handy bits and bobs including a kettle (and tea/coffee provisions), a cool box and an electric woodburner-effect heater. Power sockets are provided for charging up all your gadgets, and there’s outdoor furniture so you can relax out in the open air (perhaps with that cuppa from the kettle…) The bell tents are part of a small-scale pub campsite so you’ll also have access to all the facilities that have been set up for that – including a small shop, laundry facilities and a modern toilet/shower block. Dogs are permitted on site, and are welcome to join you in the pub too (as long as they’re well behaved). A stay here puts you within easy reach of all sorts of Anglesey days out, including walks on the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path or through the stunning landscapes of Parys Mountain. Several beaches are close by too, including Lligwy and Church Bay (both 20 minutes’ drive). However you fill your days, you’ll be able to come back to the pub for a good meal and a few drinks at the end of it all, either in the pub or out in the garden. The pub has a kids’ menu and – in a lovely touch – a few options for visiting dogs too.

Local attractions

It’s the coast that draws most people here – and what a coastline it is, with beaches like snorkelling spot Bull Bay (10 minutes’ drive) and sandy Lligwy (20 minutes’ drive) to visit, and historic corners like the Porth Wen Brickworks (10 minutes) to seek out. It’s all linked up by the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path, a great trail for walks short or longer. More of those seaside activities? Try birdwatching at Cemlyn North Wales Wildlife Trust Reserve (15 minutes), wildlife-spotting boat trips to Puffin Island from Beaumaris (35 minutes) or a trip to South Stack Lighthouse (40 minutes), a particularly popular spot at sunset. It’s not all about the coast, of course – the walking trails of Parys Mountain (15 minutes), coloured by years of copper mining, are well worth exploring too, as are the birdwatching routes at Llyn Alaw Reservoir (five minutes).
