  • Small, well-kept Anglesey tourer site with Eryri National Park views
  • Beaumaris Castle, Red Wharf Bay and Pentraeth Beach 10 minutes’ drive
  • Easy-to-access, spacious gravel pitches for motorhomes and caravans
Tain y Coed Campsite is a well-maintained, back-to-basics tourer and motorhomes site 10 minutes’ drive from the Britannia Bridge on the Isle of Anglesey. Thanks to direct access to the A5025, it makes a handy base whether you’re looking to head off into Eryri (was Snowdonia) National Park or spend time discovering hidden corners of the island itself. The site is adjacent to farming fields – home to sheep and rabbits – and has generous-sized gravel pitches for touring caravans and motorhomes. Each one has pretty views across the fields to the mountains of Eryri – especially dramatic on sunny days. Simple amenities include a drinking-water tap near the entrance of the site and a chemical deposit point for water waste. There’s also a large bin provided for rubbish disposal, which is collected and recycled. Well-behaved dogs are welcome but should be kept on a lead at all times when on site, due to the close proximity of sheep. The site owners kindly ask that you clean up after your dog as well please. Need to restock? Pick up essentials from the small convenience store in Pentraeth village (five minutes’ drive). Alternatively, grab a takeaway Chinese or try out the pub, particularly popular for Sunday lunch.

Primitive gravel travel trailer campsite

Liked An absolutely perfect site for our style of traveling. Very quiet with great view's, and lots of bird life to watch also.

The local village has a great spar shop with cheap fuel and a couple of nice pub/eateries.

Access to the site is brilliant just off the main road, but the pitches are far enough away as to be undisturbed by road noise.

The owner was very welcoming and explained all we needed to know.

Facilities are minimal but fresh water filling and toilet emptying is available. That is all we personally need so fantastic.

To get to and from the mainland is very simple with only a 10 minute drive along the A5025.

We are looking to return in the very near future.

Great base to move all over the island
