  • Family site two miles from Barmouth
  • Sea views on site; short walk from Talybont station
  • Access to facilities of sister site including swimming pool
Settle in for sea views from several corners of the site at Tyddyn Goronwy Camping Park in Gwynedd, in the seaside village of Tal-y-Bont and a couple of miles from the beaut beach at Barmouth. Pods and pitches here are flanked by sea and mountain views, and are within easy walking distance of the village, which has a takeaway and a riverside pub. Even closer is Talybont station, a couple of minutes' walk away and handy for outings to Barmouth beach or north to the peaks of Snowdonia. Showers, toilets and a washing-up area are available on site. The pitch price at Tyddyn Goronwy also includes a free leisure pass to its sister park Sunnysands Caravan Park, a short drive away, to use its heated indoor pool, café, fish and chip shop and other facilities – and you might want to stick around for the spectacular beachfront sunsets too.

Powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Owners are lovely and very welcoming. Explained the site and bits needed for our stay. Showers and toilets clean and good supply of loo roll. Close to pub which does good food and entertainment on weekends(not sure if any entertainment during the week). Short walk to beach which. Quiet after hours for a good nights sleep.

Powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Location. Short walk to a wonderful beach with beach walks all the way to Shell Island. Talybont train station 2 minute walk so great for catching train to Barmouth or the other way to Harlech and Porthmadog. Fundamentally a large well kept field with some ok showers. Elsan was appalling and reception very basic. Overpriced.

Camping pod (no pets)

Liked The Pod was great, saved us putting up the tent as only stayed two nights. Staff were very helpful, especially Ginny. Lovely views, very clean toilets and showers. Was quiet as we were before the school holidays.

Disliked No faculty to freeze ice packs but Ginny kindly put then in her freezer for us, as did the lady at reception on the caravan park.

Local attractions

To Barmouth first, of course: its position on the north Wales coast surrounded by Snowdonia National Park makes it a popular and pretty place to visit – and the huge beach is pretty special to see as well. Away from the coast (eventually), a wide range of activities is available around Tyddyn Goronwy Camping Park, from cycling to hiking to pony trekking – or strap on lots of energy and tackle the Snowdon and Cadair Idris mountain ranges a short distance away. A chuffing good way to see the spectacular scenery of north Wales is on one of its small steam trains: the nearest to Tyddyn Goronwy are the Fairbourne Steam Railway just outside Barmouth and the Ffestiniog Railway about 10 miles away.
