  • Quiet coastal campsite on the spectacular Llŷn Peninsula
  • A 10-minute drive from Abersoch; Pwllheli 20 minutes
  • Views over Cardigan Bay and direct access to the Wales Coast Path
For a low-key coastal site on the Llŷn Peninsula with spectacular views over Cardigan Bay, have a look at Cim Farm Caravan Park. There's direct access to the Wales Coast Path here, making this spot a top stop-over site for walkers and backpackers, plus a circular walk on the farm for those who are settling down for longer spells. Dogs are welcome, but please keep them on a lead to avoid spooking the sheep and cows that live in the neighbouring fields. The farm is on the edge of the village of Bwlchtocyn and about a mile from a café and sandy Machroes beach. A short distance further along the coast is Abersoch (10 minutes' drive), where there's a golf club, surf shops, a sailing school and a supermarket. Facilities on site include well-maintained toilets, hot showers (handy to have after dips in the sea), a playground, a laundry room and a freezer for ice packs. This site is high up and open to the elements, meaning it has fantastic views over to the mountains of Snowdonia National Park and makes a great place to fly a kite. After 10pm, it's quiet time, and all music must be paused.

What customers say

Cim Farm gets top marks for its amazing location near gorgeous beaches and coastal paths. Guests love the super-clean facilities, the welcoming owners Neil and Dawn, and the tidy pitches. It's a peaceful spot, great for families and unwinding. A few mention wind exposure and distance to Abersoch, but most want to come back!

Primitive grass tent or campervan campsite

Liked Lovely site! Faultless service.

Manager wasn't on site when we checked in, talked to me to our pitch. Came and checked in with us once he was back.

Spotless. We were pitched near the toilet block, and like clockwork, the toilets were cleaned regularly. Couldn't fault it.

Disliked Push button showers/washing up facility.

I get it, they don't want people wasting water or leaving them on accidentally, but still a dislike for me.

Powered grass tent or campervan campsite

Liked Location-gentle 45 min walk to abersoch and 20 min walk to beautiful beach.
Good variety of visiting street food if you don't feel like cooking
Really nice well maintained site. Polite and friendly campers. Tip top for families and couples

Disliked Pitches aren't big enough for these enormous tents. We were swamped, albeit lovely neighbours you are ontop of each other

Primitive grass tent or campervan campsite

Liked Absolutely fantastic place! The place itself is beautiful - a perfect location to Porth Ceriead and only 10 minutes away from Hell's Mouth beach.
I highly recommend bodyboarding in these two beaches! It was the most fun we have had in a long time! The waves were fantastic!
There are horses near the tent pitches that you can enjoy the sight of as well as views of the sea and mountains from some places.
The best part of all was the people managing the site. Neil and Dawn were just fantastic at every point in our holiday - they really, genuinely went out of their way to make our holiday great. They also kept the place running so smoothly and kept everything clean. We can't thank them enough and can't recommend the campsite enough!!!!! We are so excited to go again as I think this is our new favourite campsite!

Local attractions

In the immediate surrounding area, there's Abersoch Golf Club (10 minutes' drive) if you fancy a game or two with sea views, plus top-rated local beaches for swimming, watersports and picnics like Porth Ceiriad (10 minutes) and Porth Neigwl (10 minutes), the second of which is renowned for its favourable surfing conditions. Many of these can be comfortably reached on foot via the Wales Coast Path. A little further along the peninsula, you'll come to Pwllheli, a harbour town with an attractive marina that's well worth a visit. Heading in the other direction, Criccieth Castle (30 minutes) has turrets and towers that are hard to beat – although Harlech's imposing coastal fortress (an hour) certainly gives it a run for its money. For more family-friendly days out, head to the pretty Italian-style coloured houses and cafés at Portmeirion (30 minutes), or venture out into Snowdonia National Park for mountain peaks, lakeside walks or to experience the zipwires, woodland rollercoasters and other exhilarating rides at Zip World Fforest near Betws-y-Coed (an hour and 15 minutes).
