Local attractions

North Wales has so much to offer and with Barmouth Bay conveniently located in the heart of it all, you don’t want to miss out. The primary beauty about Barmouth Bay Holiday Park is its idealistic location amongst the 823 square miles of Snowdonia National Park. The park offers beautiful landscape views of mountains and greenery making it perfect for keen walkers and avid dog walkers alike. In 2009 Snowdon Summit Visitors Centre was opened in order to give people the chance to have panoramic views of Snowdonia National Park whilst having a cup of tea! Harlech Castle is only a 15-minute drive from Barmouth Bay and is perched on a rock over looking Snowdonia. This 13th Century Castle is open all year round and offers both an educational trip and the chance to see magnificent medieval architecture. Want to see the scenery of Snowdonia without the energy of walking or concentration of driving? Then The Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways vintage steam trains are perfect for you. The 13 mile journey of Snowdon scenery are enjoyed within the comfort of a narrow gauge carriage giving you the chance to really take in the breathe taking views. Voted the best family attraction in North Wales for 2011 and 2012, GreenWood Forest Park has so many activities on offer including the only people powered roller coaster in the world! For kids there is a giant active adventure playground where they can climb up in to the TreeTop Towers or for the under 12′s there is a 1,200 square foot super pillow jumper. To find out more about the activities at GreenWood click on the link above.
