  • Peaceful and green Mid Wales site on the banks of the Dyfi river
  • Machynlleth 15 minutes' drive; half an hour to the coast
  • Easy access from the A470; pub, shop and café 10 minutes' walk
Countryside views and convenient access all in one location? Parc Bryndyfi makes a fantastic base for a Mid Wales break – this lush green oasis of a site is a proper rural place to stay, surrounded by trees and with the Dyfi river running down one side. The convenient access comes in the form of the A470, one of the main roads running through this part of the world. It’s just outside the site, making your ins and outs nice and simple and making it easy to get out for day trips to Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park or over to the coast. For even more on the convenience front, the village of Cemmaes is about 10 minutes’ walk away, with a traditional pub (serving food as well as drinks) and an award-winning village shop/café. For more shopping and eating, head to Machynlleth, 15 minutes’ drive away. The setup at this site is fairly simple, but guests have access to smart bathroom facilities and an indoor washing-up/kitchen area. Dogs are welcome, and there’s plenty of space for them and the kids to have a good run about.

Powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked Very friendly site manager!
Extremely clean facilities.
Very well organised site
Large pitches
Beautiful mature trees on site
Nice tidy recycling/bin area
Good communications
Dog walking area
Nice views of river Dyfy

Disliked Sadly, not much shade on site so if it is really hot, can be hard to keep cool esp for pets. We were OK as we had lovely beech tree above and an awning. Others not so lucky

Powered grass campsite

Liked Picturesque setting. Brand new facilities (shower, toilet, wash up). Level pitches.
Personal attendance by the manager.

Disliked Tents generally do not have food chill facilities. They rely on a campsite freezer (rotating freezer blocks named by users) to offer basic chill for meat and dairy products. There is lots of space in wash-up areas for a freezer for campers. Mobile homes/ caravans are usually self sufficient. Just now hot temperatures are a big issue for campers - rather than rain and cold!
Description of site should mention nearby road - active all night and used commercially.

Powered grass campsite

Liked Beautiful location. High quality toilet / shower facilities. Manager (Chris) and owner (Aled) both very friendly and helpful. Place always spotlessly clean. The power supply for my electric grass pitch also had a drinking water tap - very convenient.

Disliked It was a very basic site - a pitch and a shower block is all that's there. Travelling off season there was almost no-one there. At busier times of year I would worry that the shower block facilities would be quickly overrun (toilet, washing and shower facilities all in single integrated units - only 2 x male, 2 x female serving whole site). Also no reception, though it was easy to get hold of Chris by text message and he was always great.

Remote location and lack of onsite amenities might make it less suited for families with young children.

But reality is, the good outweighs the less good many times over, so these are just cautionary comments.

Superb site, quiet and relaxing

Powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked Chris was very friendly and helpful, lovely site next to a river, easy access and level pitches, new toilet block and showers. 10 minute drive to Machynlleth with a large car park suitable for motorhomes, just past the Co op , will definitely be back to visit our family in the next village

Disliked My wife is disabled but was not able to use the shower easily as is stops every 20 seconds, even in the disabled toilet, Chris is aware of this but that was our only complaint, everything else was full marks

Absolute perfect site. Great views and river walks.

Primitive grass tent or campervan campsite

Liked Everything was perfect. Great views level pitches. Spoke to the owner and manager both great people. We actually did a last minute upgrade to electric grass when we arrived and it was no issue with them. Toilets/ shower block absolutely spotless

Disliked Not a dislike but my only opinion would be when busy may need an extra few toilet only cubicles. But was fine otherwise.
