General
- Luxury glamping in a secluded spot in the beautiful Brecon Beacons.
- Pitched on the bank of the River Grwyne with two miles of fishing
- Two miles of fishing on site; barbecue, firepit and outdoor kitchen
Sink your teeth into the Black Mountains from Brecon Beacons Bell Tents… this scenic bell tent site is on the bank of the river Grwyne in the national park, so mornings could look like a bacon sandwich and brew by the riverside or fishing along the two-mile stretch.
It’s remote here with the river, woodlands and meadows, but there’s a barbecue and firepit with a well-stocked woodpile to keep the evenings lively enough and a public footpath that leads to summits in the Black Mountains or the Grwyne Valley.
When you’re after a cuppa post-hike, just slide into the covered kitchen outdoors, where there’s a gas cooker and electric coolbox. The tent has a hot shower and toilet, a double bed with a memory foam mattress, a double futon and a tent stove.
In your free time, you could wander the fields around this working farm (keeping dogs on a lead due to the odd inquisitive sheep). Your area is fenced off, not to keep you in, but to keep the livestock out.
Perhaps follow the riverbank down to Llangenny village (15 minutes’ walk), where there’s a country pub with fine ales and good grub, or venture to Crickhowell (five minutes’ drive) for pubs, cafés, independent shops and a butchers… or Abergavenny (15 minutes) for that, and markets too. Otherwise, places deliver food locally – the site will bring it to your tent upon arrival.
There’s parking by the site for those with four-wheel drives and another car park a short walk away (get a lift in the tractor if you have lots of luggage).

Beautiful valley walks also compliment the mountain hikes if you would rather stay on the valley floor and explore the wonderful Grwyne Valley.
10 - 15 minutes walk down the riverbank is the picturesque village of Llangenny and the wonderful Dragons Head country pub. The pub supplies fine ales and brilliant pub food with a warm welcome for the owners and the local characters in the snug bar.
Local activities include horse riding and pony trekking, paragliding, canoeing, climbing, mountain biking, guided walks and tours, bush craft and foraging, canyoning, climbing, caving, gorge walking, fishing and golf. All of which we can put you in touch with - recommending the best companies around.
There are also local attractions for families and children at Cantref Adventure Farm, Llangorse Multi Activity Centre, Dan Y Ogof Caves, Brecon Mountain Railway, as well as Birds of Prey Centres and Red Kite feeding stations.

Hi Megan, sorry that you found the prices a bit expensive. We are actually under the average cost of a bell tent. We only recently opened in September and wanted to encourage business. This seems to have worked as we have been full nearly every weekend since then and have had returning customers even in the winter months. We give free firewood for the stove to make the stay as warm and comfortable as possible. Most places charge for wood but we feel that is part of making the experience comfortable so we include it in the price of the stay. The cost is very reasonable due to the unique isolated location on the river bank. We have never had any complaints about the public footpath on the opposite side of the river. It may have been a particularly busy weekend as its usually a very quiet part of the valley. Maybe there was an event on which increased the footfall on the path. Sorry about that. What amenities do you think we could add to make the stay more comfortable? We are always looking to improve and often ask guests for advice. Thanks for coming. Hope to see you soon.
