  • Family- and dog-friendly site 20 minutes’ drive from Cardigan Bay
  • A 15-minute drive from the Ceredigion Coast Path at New Quay
  • Folly Farm and Oakwood Theme Park both within an hour's drive
Coastal walks with your best (canine) pal, dolphin-spotting boat tours and lengthy beach days… might you fancy saying a big yes please to all that? At Gellie Camping, a small family-run and family-friendly place just under a mile from the village of Plwmp in Ceredigion, West Wales, it’s all within easy reach. Gellie Camping is a top spot for anyone who wants to explore the Welsh coastline, with the Ceredigion Coast Path and its stunning views over Cardigan Bay passing less than 15 minutes’ drive from the site. If you’re not the walking type, you can see the coastline from a different angle with a boat trip around the bay (keep an eye out for dolphins), or stay active on site with a game of volleyball or a kickabout on the football pitch. Barbecues and campfires are allowed at the site, so fire one up (stacked high with goodies from the shop less than five minutes away), or enjoy the spoils around the other; washing-up facilities are on site whichever you pick. Prefer to take a break from cooking (and cleaning)? Plenty of restaurants to try are within 15 minutes of Gellie Camping.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked We really enjoyed our stay and were made to feel really welcome. We arrived in particularly wet weather however the covered kitchen area and picnic benches were a real bonus.Facilities were excellent, everything had been considered and made for a relaxing stay. The fields were really well kept and hearing and seeing all the birds and seeing the ponies appear at the bottom of the field made the stay feel real special. We also appreciated the hot showers and the feeling of space. The level pitches make an ideal space for family meet ups and the location perfect for dolphin viewing and boat trips. Although we were staying without children we could see it would be a fantastic space for exploring, the rope swing and football goals a real bonus too.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Fabulous site, well kept but a very relaxed feel. Washing up area, toilets and showers were excellent and very clean.
Lady who checked us in was very smiley and friendly.
Very quiet, peaceful site. Not sure if it would be the case at the height of summer, but plenty of space to find a quiet corner.
Great value, will definitely book again when next down that way. 😊

Disliked Not a negative but something to bear in mind, no toilet emptying facility.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked + Loads of space
+ Surrounded by nature
+ No noise from road in the evenings or at night
+ Good shower and toilet block
+ Fridge and freezer
There were quite a few midges about. I'd chosen a pitch that was sheltered from the wind and had to take refuge in my car one evening. The other campers didn't seem bothered so perhaps you need to choose a pitch a little more in the open. Just something to be aware of.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Nice little site Very basic but had the amenities needed
Good location

Disliked Field was on quite a slope so my children found themselves slipping down the bed which led to them constantly waking all through the night.
Also as it was past 6 on arrival and it started to rain heavily I decided to sort the kids and check in and pay first thing in the morning which we did. Upon arrival at reception a young lad (friends of the family/ family member visiting) greeted us by shouting Gypos across the yard obviously not expecting us to be stopping and actually going to reception. Considering we paid over £100 to stay it was certainly not appreciated to be discriminated against just because we have a van !!

Good location. Great for kids
